I just purchased a phil and teds navigator. It's not a travel system so to speak but you can buy the adaptor for any carseat and can convert it to one. You can also purchase a second seat.
If the jogging stroller is a requirement, BOB is compatible with Britax and sells attachment systems for a few other brands, too. The only one I'm 100 positive on is maxicosi, but i know there's a longer list.
Also, you probably know this, but you can't run with the car seat in the stroller.
Oh, and we had a graco metrolite travel system last time and I wasn't really a fan. Someone stole it from our garage, in broad daylight and we replaced the stroller with the smaller Quinny umbrella stroller. It also accommodates maxicosi carseats and has other adapters. I love that stroller.
Baby trend makes a jogger travel system but if you are a serious jogger/runner then you should get a BOB.

You are going to think I am a total idiot, but no I didnt. I though the carseat snaps to secure it. So maybe buying the travel system isnt worth it in the end. Buying parts might be more beneficial like the ladies suggested with better jogging strollers. Glad I asked before my baby and carseat bounced out of the stroller on my first jog back.
Does anyone know what the safest infant car seat is out there? There is so much info on the internet and all the ones I look up say that they are #1 in something or another.

They all have to meet the exact same safety standards, so no carseat is really any safer than any other. What you pay for are the extra features, like more padding on the sides, weight limits, design, etc.

I was really disappointed when I realized this, too! FWIW, the moms on my running board like the BOB so much that most of them use it as their everyday stroller. I can't wait to try mine!
Thanks a lot for the info. I was going to use my jogging stroller as my everyday stroller for convenience too. One last ququestion, do you know of hand what carseats fit into the BOB strollers.

The only one I'm absolutely certain of is maxicosi, but i know there are others. You can probably google it.
We're doing the Citi Mini GT with the Chicco Keyfit30 seat and adapter. I definitely wanted a more rugged stroller for walks and jogs later on.
The citi mini GT is not made for running or jogging.

I'm getting a BOB or borrowing my SIL's Dreamer Design - they don't make strollers any more, but the ones they made are really nice. I have time to figure that out though - from what I've read you aren't supposed to run with them until they are 5-6 months old and can fully support their heads.
For a carseat I'm going with the chicco keyfit 30. Skipping the travel system and going with the liteway plus for a stroller.

So you can run w/ car seat in stroller when LO is 5-6 months?? I thought that's what the adapter is for on the BOB strollers. Sorry if this is a dumb question, me mad DH are already looking at strollers too and this is our first baby.

No, if you look at their website it says that you absolutely can NOT run with the carseat. Without the carseat, the general recommendation for jogging strollers is not to run with a baby under 6 months because they don't have the neck strength to adequately support/stabilize their heads.

Okay, glad I asked! Thanks
I do know some people who used them earlier, but with permission/evaluation from their pediatrician. Just something else to consider. I did see the BOB/britax system at REI and it seems really topheavy.

I'm not hardcore at all. Not sure what the OPs definition of jogging is. I'm mostly a fast walker and prefer the easier folding of the City Mini to the Bob. Depends on what she's looking for exactly :.
We got a BOB with a britax carseat and it folds down to fit into the back of my impreza without a problem (we did take off one wheel and that was super easy to do). we pushed it around the store for like 20 minutes, it was super easy to manuever and you can totally lock the wheels into place for jogging, or let it swivel for regular walking.
we aren't really runners, but we do a lot of trail walking/hiking and this was the best stroller out there for our needs. It might be overkill for a regular day, but it's gonna be our regular stroller as well.
I did NOT know you couldn't run with the carseat in there either. That's really good to know! I'd imagine it'd be the same for going hiking possibly I need to look into that...
