Date nights.

I see [via FB] that a lot of us have been having them lately...thank God, right?

So, when was your last date night? Do you make it a point to have one every so often? What'd you do?

We went to see This is 40, which was hilarious, BTW. I hadn't been to the movies since I was pregnant so I was pumped to go! We had dinner at a really good Italian restaurant beforehand. We've tried to go at least once a month,but we missed November. I really try not to talk about baby, as much as we love him. It was nice to have it just be us for a few hours. I loved that SO texted me that morning to ask what we were doing that night because it had been awhile since we had done anything together. At least I'm liked still, right?

We've been out once, for my birthday. I am hoping to get to do something again for Valentine's Day. We did go to eat for our anniversary but it was the same night as DH's grandmother's funeral and it was during the week so we still had kids when we got back home therefore I don't think that counts. When it was just DD we did try to do once a month but now with the twins the only person who we feel comfortable leaving them with overnight is MIL and she is a busy lady!

Earlier November, sometime? Ds screamed the entire time though and we had to leave early. We've tried a couple of times after that, but again, he screams and we have to leave because he's inconsolable. No one wants to watch him anymore, which is understandable.

We try to go out several times a month if we can. We are lucky in that my inlaws live very close to us and encourage us to go out and spend time with each other. They enjoy watching M and I'm grateful for that.

We haven't been out with just DH and I....

We have been to 2 weddings, but we brought ds#1 with us. We have gone out to dinner with all 4 of us a few times too.

We try for once a month just us. We went a week ago, so we'll try end of January.

Probably only like 2 times that it was just the two of us since DD was born! She is not the easiest baby so I have a hard time leaving her at home knowing she and whomever is watching her might not have the best of time. But I know we need to make more effort to make couple time!

Um does a 30 minute trip to Target count? I am not comfortable leaving DD with anyone but my parents and they don't live close. But we go out to dinner and take DD often so I am fine with it.

We go a couple times a month. Nothing special just dinner and shopping. We went to a biker rally down on the island once. My parents and his sitter are only allowed to watch him. His sitter is a nanny to twins at night so its always my parents watching him on our date night. Luckily they live like 3 minutes down the road and they love spending time with T.

We go out a few times a month, sometimes on our own sometimes with friends. I prefer on our own to a really good restaurant.

I am dying to see that movie!! I rarely like to do a movie on our date night though because 1. Then we don't get to talk and 2. I typically get too tired and just want to be home!

We've been out once or twice a month. We've had family visit almost every month since she was born, and my close friend loves to babysit for us. We were really into food and eating out before DD, so we usually get dressed up and go to a fancy restaurant. I love it!

We've only been out twice. Our families are 3,000 miles away and we haven't found babysitters yet. That's a big goal of mine for the new year!

The last time we went out was when my parents were visiting for Thanksgiving. We saw Argo, which was really great!

We very rarely gi out without the kids. We don't have a sitter or any family that will do it and with dh not working can't afford to pay for a sitter either.
However since dd has been born, we have gone out a few times with her. My dad when he was here; he's a snowbird and lives in Mexico six months of the year, he watched them. We always take the baby with us though as I EBF. We went to a wedding with dd in sept I think was last time.

I wish it was more, however we didn't have kids to have tine away from them

I LOVE date nights! We aim for once a month, in November we even got to go out twice but now that I think about it I don't think we went out on a date this month but we did a lot. Definitely without the kids....it's not really a date with them after all. We do several family outings and those are fun as well. I would go nuts without date nights or girl time. DH is awesome and always encourages me to call up my friends and hang out while he watches both kids. I, in turn, will encourage him to go hang out with his friends or have a poker night in the garage (man cave).
