Your favorite sleep training book?

With ds#1, we never did anything special...but he also didn't STTN until 17 months old.

This time I am looking to do something differently.  I'm not going to start until at least 6 months, but I figured I should read-up now.  I am looking for a somewhat gentle method (not just CIO).

What method are you or have you used?

~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

Re: Your favorite sleep training book?

  • I like Weissbluth's Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. It has helped me understand sleep needs and sleep cues. It discusses what sorts of sleep habits might be going on at certain ages, too. It gives several options for sleep training but also accepts that some people won't sleep train.

  • I've read SO many!  I read Weissbluth.  I didn't agree with everything he said, but I found his explanation of sleep very educational.  I also read The Sleep Lady, NO Cry Sleep Solution, Happiest Baby.  You name it, I read it.
