I am so confused by all the prenatal vitamins out there...I started taking folic acid this month, but should I be taking a prenatal as well? I am hoping to get an appointment with my doctor in the next few weeks to discuss, but in the mean time I want to make sure I am doing what I should.
Any input/vitamin suggestions?

Re: Vitamins...
I've started taking just a pnv and vitamin c. The pnv is Spring Valley from Walmart.
I'm going to ask my doc when I see her for my annual in a few days if that's enough. But I would think so, from what I've read online, my pnv has all of the recommended amounts of stuff.

Before TTC I stopped taking vitamins because the pill kind started to make me nauseous. But since TTC, I started taking PNVs. I tried the gummy PNVs which are fine but lacks minerals. I also tried the pill PNVs that were reviewed by PP as not being nauseous on Amazon and that worked ok too.
My OBGYN gave me a bunch of samples to try before I chose...I ended up choosing Vitofol-One because it was one of the few that had zinc in it, which there is an article somewhere on the bump about how that can maybe be good for ttc, plus was a smaller, easier to swallow pill!
I know a quite a few people on here just take the gummy prenatal vitamins you can buy at the pharmacy until they get BFP's and need iron.

It's important to take folic acid while TTC, but the PNV can wait until you're pg if you don't want to take them now. Technically, you don't have to take them at all if you don't want to (with a healthy diet, you get most vitamins from food), just the folic acid and iron. My doc also recommends vit D, since almost everyone is chronically low in my area.
Personally, I take a PNV, DHA fish oil, and a gummy D3.
I take the Rainbow Light PNV. It's the only one that I've been able to not get nausea from in case that happens to you too.
