What are your NYE plans?

We don't do much for NYE - our first one together, we went to a bar and partied like rock stars. Our 2nd one together, we were asleep by like 10pm. And we've gone out one other time but came home early to avoid being on the roads with drunks and had a small gathering at our house (I was pregnant with DS #1).

We have no plans and I will probably go to bed early like last year!

We are hanging out at the house too, like we do every year. We will probably order a pizza and do some appetizers and have a little party, just the three of us. I'd rather stay in these days then go out... I'm such a home body.

We will probably stay home. We've never really gone out for NYE. I think we went to a movie last year. I don't even know if I can stay awake until midnight!!

We get dressed up and go out to a really nice restaurant with a big group of my friends- the kind of place that you wouldn't pay for any other night. We make the reservation really late, so that we are still at the restaurant at midnight. The nice thing about this is that we don't have to leave until J is already asleep for the night. MIL gets the most boring babysitting gig ever.

It's a tradition we've had for years, but I don't know if it will last once we all start having kids (one of my friends is single, one is divorced, and two of them are just getting married next year, so we are the only parents in this particular group so far).

We have had a together at our house for 3 or 4 years now. It's kind of expected with our friends. I don't mind because I don't have to drive anywhere and if I get tired I just go to bed. I'm not sure how this will work out with DD now but I told DH we would try it this year and if it was horrible on her sleep it would be the last year.

We haven't done much in years past and usually end up in bed before midnight! This year we are going to a friends house and it's Ugly Sweater themed...not sure if I'll participate in that. However, if I do, then I don't have to worry about what I'm going to wear since I've gained a couple pounds and clothes aren't fitting right... It's also a white elephant shin dig too. Everyone has young kids so we are all bringing the LO's and the pack n plays and we are staying over. Hopefully it'll be a good night!

I've been "out" for NYE a few times in my life, but not often. This year, I'll be out of town visiting some friends that I've not gotten to see in a long time (because of exSO). They've only gotten to see Ian once, for a very brief visit. So, I'll be leaving Sunday and won't come home 'til Wednesday or Thursday. They have teenage kids, so I figure there will be a million kids at their house, but that's not abnormal. My friends also usually have people over, so I'm sure that's what NYE will be for us.

For the past 7 years, we've hosted NYE at our house for 10-20 people. Most of them stay the night, so we avoid the whole drunk driving thing - but it means drunk people at the house. We're not hosting this year, and it feels weird not to be planning for it! We're going to a friend's house, they will have her son for the night so it'll be low key and fun. I'm excited about it, because we don't get to see them very often.

Nothing. I don't think we even stayed up to watch the ball drop for the past few years. It's a lighted ball that slowly falls like 50 feet or something. Who cares? It's like the equivalent of staying up to watch it turn to midnight the night before your birthday. Or the night on Sunday night to watch it turn into Monday. It's going to happen whether you watch it or not so I don't see the point. I know it's primarily an excuse to party for most people.

H wants to go to his parent's house because BIL is having all of their friends over. I REALLY don't want to go. It will be loud so the girls won't sleep well and I just don't like H's friends. The guys will talk about video games all night and the girlfriends who are there are all at least 8 years younger then me, kind of immature, and we just don't have anything in common at all. I hang out with these people fairly often because H has a lot of fun and it's important to him but I just don't want to spend New Year's bored out of my mind and being friendly and social with people I'm not particularly fond of. Of course, they all (including BIL) think we're great friends so if just H goes it will look really bad. Can't say I'm sick, because I would keep the girls home with me and if I was sick, why would I do that? H said that he would stay home with us and when I said "yeah, but then you'll be annoyed" he said "I won't be mad, but I will be bummed". Translation - "I'll stay home with you, but will likely end up playing video games since you won't let me go hang out with my friends". He's normally a homebody and hates going out, I wish he felt the same way about New Year's!

It's our wedding anniversary, so we are going out to dinner. My best friend is watching the baby for us. We will probably be home by 8 and maybe crack the bottle of champagne i've been saving for a special occasion.

My nephews 16th birthday party is that night so we'll be going there, but there is no way we'll be able to stay until midnight with Eli. I assume we'll come home, put Eli to bed and we'll stay up to watch the ball drop.

During the day we will be at my nephews birthday party, then go home and try to stay up until midnight...i could bet a million this will result in both DH and I asleep on the couch by 11.

I saw a balloon thing on pinterest where you put an activity inside the balloon written on paper to do over the next hour, poping one each hour to keep you busy till midnight, I have been thinking about doing this with more adult like activities inside for DH and I.... maybe a sexy version.
