Babies: 6 - 9 Months

napnanny recalled- Now what do we do?

LO has been sleeping in a napnanny and LOVES it. Unfortunately, they got recalled. We've tried laying her in her crib (with the mattress slightly elevated on one side) but she refuses to sleep. Then, we tried it flat. Same outcome.

We've let her CIO for about fifteen minutes, go soothe her, and then let her cry again. It's a never ending cycle. Any ideas on how to make the crib work?

TIA

  • Just cause it has been recalled doesn't mean you necessarily need to stop using it if it's working for you. Just be extra mindful going forward. For every thing we own there will always be people who injure themselves but many more who don't. With baby stuff, the threshold is probably pretty low before they announce a recall. They recalled the bumbo but I still haven't bothered to use the safety belt that I got in the mail.

  • Have you tried the Fisher Price Rock N Play?  That has the same incline and worked for my LO.  But I do agree with the other poster.  Why was it recalled?  From what I understand, people were putting it in the crib and babies were getting severally injured from getting stuck between the crib and the napnanny. I'm not sure if that is the only reason for the recall but that is a very easy fix on your end!

  • We used ours till DD was 5 months I realize this was Pre recall but we would have kept using it as it was on the floor like it is supposed to be used and that is how she slept best.  I say do what works for sleep!
