Solids schedule

I just started my son who's 19 weeks on solids last Saturday.  He's taking to it really well, so I want to give it to him 2x a day.  I'm just curious if others who work full-time and put their babies in daycare let the daycare do all meals, or if you do the dinner feeding yourself. I typically don't get home until 6:30 and the baby goes to sleep by 8pm.  I'd like to give him the solids feeding, but think he may need to eat at 5:30.  Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance!

    I would stay with 1x a day for now. You need to build up slowly to 2 then 3 meals a day, so a week isn't long enough. Experiment with different fruits and veggies, see what LO likes. Once DS was on 2, then 3 meals a day we have daycare do breakfast, lunch, and snack, and we do dinner at home. Can your SO give LO their dinner?

    Thanks, I'm following my pedi's advice to do 2x a day for now.  No, my SO can't do the feeding, so it's either me or the DC.  I wanted to do it for bonding, but it may just be better for him to have the feeding earlier.  What time do you do dinner and then what time is bed?

    My DC does a morning solid feeding then I do one when I'm home in the evening.  We usually get home from DC around 5:45 ish.  Depending on when he needs to be nursed I squeeze the solids in before/after he nurses.  It is not a perfect system, we're still working on the schedule.

    DS gets dinner between 4:30 and 5, and goes to bed by 6.

    Food is fun until 1. You shouldn't expect a solid meal to fill him up. Always offer bottle or breast first since that is where they should get the majority of their nutrition from until one.

    I feed DD rice cereal in the morning and that's all. Soon we're going to have daycare give her some purees. We just do 1x a day for now.
