Moms who dealt with acid reflux when their babes were younger, talk to me. What are symptoms? What sorts of things make it better or worse?
I babysit a 4 month old boy, and I think he needs to be treated for it. He was a normal happy baby for the first couple weeks I watched him, but he is a total fussy nightmare now. He screams through feedings, and I'm taking blood curdling, high pitched, dogs within a 3 mile radius are howling scream. He throws his head back and screams when I burp him, and I've now noticed his breath is smelling acidic, kind of like vomit. The only time he is ever truely happy while he's awake is if he's sitting straight up. He does have gas issues too, and the last time his mom talked to their ped he told her just to give him gas drops. I've expresses my concern before but I think she brushes it off.
I know part of the fussiness issue is gas, but there has to be something else. He is exclusively breast fed, she brings bottled milk to me everyday. Could there be something she's eating that's causing this? The poor little guy just seems like he is in so much pain, but there's only so much I can do. I'm on the verge of telling her "fix it or don't come back" because of how much he freaking screams.
Wow, that turned into a bit of a vent too, sorry lol

Re: throwback questions, acid reflux in little babes
The bolded part dscribed my DD to a "T", She started developing symptoms at 3 weeks, and was diagnosed at 7 weeks and put on Zantac. She had more of a silent reflux meaning she never vomitted, and was gaining weight, but the acid just stayed in her throat and burned like hell. Once she was on meds, she was fine! I finally weaned her off the meds about 7 months. I hope the LO gets help!
