I am a healthy 27 year old female-4 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first child. I have not been experiencing any nausea, but man-oh-man am I tired! All I can think about is sleep and as crazy as it sounds-I feel like I have bricks in my shoes-I feel so sluggish at work on my feet all day. I am considering packing a travel pillow in my bag to work so I can take a 30 minute snooze in my office during my lunch break.
Also-really bloated-and I feel like a little is in my belly but it's mostly in my face! I am overweight to begin with-so I really want to try and limit my weight gain during this pregnancy, have been trying to be mindful of calories in and out and trying to keep up with some sort of exercise regimen. Taking my prenatal and drinking large amts of water. I go to Pure Barre classes a few times a week but this past week it has been harder to keep up, even though there are pregnant women in there who look 7+ months keeping up with the whole routine! Crazy!
Any women with similar symptoms? I am not complaining here-just an observation. I am really excited to be pregnant and I am hoping and praying this pregnancy continues. I really like this website but it also makes me nervous about the things that can go wrong. I just want a healthy baby. It's all I can think about.
Re: First Pregnancy...4 weeks, 4 days, thoughts...
I'm 4w1d, 23 and am so tired. I was laid off in August and haven't found work yet. My breasts hurt like crazy and I am cramping like crazy. We had actually stopped "trying" and I was just temping to keep routine.
Like you I am not complaining just observing and hoping an praying for a healthy baby.

Ultrasound 11/4 - TWO HEARTBEATS!!!
Welcome!!
i love Pure Barre, but some of the women (at least at the NYC Columbus Circle location) are real extremists. One of my pregnant friends keeps up at the pace you mentioned above, but she was taking the class 6 days a week for months prior to becoming pregnant, so she has the muscle memory and doesn't get as fatigued. That doesn't mean that other activities don't leave her drained and fatigued!
every woman experiences pregnancy differently. We all have different biochemistry. It's better not to compare, and try to enjoy the ride! (Please remind me I said this in about 7 months when I complain I look like a whale
)
TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.
Thank you all for the encouragement. I am trying my best to stay healthy. Congratulations to the ladies expecting. It is so exciting. I just can't wait til my first OB appointment on the January 15th-I think it will feel more official then. I believe they will be doing an ultrasound too.
Pure Barre is a combination of dance/pilates/yoga-it's low impact-lots of isometric movements-focuses on toning and stretching
