MIL dating guy same age as her son...

yep, the title says it all. MIL is a little odd and we have never seen eye to eye ( she threw a fit when I wouldnt let her keep LO over night when she was 4 weeks old, p.s. her home is 3 hrs away and in the middle of nowhere... yea i'm going to let my newborn daughter go there ha not ) Anyways, now she has picked up some guy she met while out at the bars and he is the same age as her son!! DH finds it odd, she is 56, he is 37! crazy lady...

    So? My husband is twenty years older than I am... I would absolutely tell you to mind your own business about that one..

    Woohoo! Go, MIL! I keep telling my mom she needs to find a young stud.

     On the other stuff though, I understand not wanting to let LO stay overnight.

    Eh.. I think after a certain point the age gap doesn't really matter so much anymore.

    I gotta agree. It is pretty shocking, but I think if she can still get them at that age, good for her!  I've asked my mom about this too and she says she'd never date a guy 20 years younger than her because it would be like dating her son, so I understand the weirdness too.

    As long as he isn't a freeloader or a jerk I don't really think it should matter. Is there more to the story?

    I have told my dad many times if my mother goes before him he better not be with anyone 5 years older than me of younger. Idk, I'd just have a real problem with that.
