Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Baby's First Cold

DS just got his first cold. He is my first so I'm not sure what to do and not do. Any advice on how to help him feel better? Thanks!

Re: Baby's First Cold

  • Kinda depends on the type of cold. Boogy wipes (target or google) if messy. All the above as they apply. And loads of love (and patience)! Good luck :-)

  • imageCrash Into Me:
saline spray then snot sucker, humidifier, warm baths with the menthol bath wash, baby vicks on feet, elevate one end of the crib if he tends to stay put while sleeping, patience.

All of this, plus lots and lots and lots of hugging. Remember, we know it's just a mild cold, but to the baby this is the Worst Thing That Ever Happened To Them Ever!!!

When Rowan had her first cold at about 4 months, we did a lot of hanging out in the bathroom with a hot shower going.
