I'm down to one a day - in the morning. Sometimes I give in at night on the weekdays if he is being particularly fussy going to bed. I'm happy with it - I get to be lazy in the mornings, and I no longer have to pump during the day while he is at school, and at night it's just easier to give him a bottle of cow's milk.
Yes! I'm trying to wean and she isn't having it. She will pull my shirt down in public now. We are stalled at 45 times a day still.
lol a little @ the shirt pulling! thinking of going down to 2 soon, just morning and night but ds is sick right now. we haven't done bottles since 6 mths and he' s not too keen on sippy cups. do not too much wcm.

We are still at 4 to 5 but my supply tanked once I got pregnant. I am surprised that he's still so interested. I hope to make to through the pregnancy but judging by how empty I feel, it's doubtful.
We are at way more than 3 here, and I don't see it changing anytime soon.
us too. Like, way more then 3. We're still night nursing, too. I think about night weaning a lot but she just doesn't seem ready.
jeann, its so much about the emotional right now that your supply probably isn't that big of a deal! tandem nursing is something I dont' think I'll ever experience, which makes me a little sad, but it's a great goal for you to have! Hope you're feeling well.
We are at 2-5 times a night. I usually don't BF during the day unless she is especially crabby or resisting a nap. She only woke up two times last night and I believe once was because of DH's snoring. I am hoping after we move and she gets her own room she'll start STTN.

if you don't mind me asking...are you bedsharing or roomsharing?

Don't mind at all
Roomsharing. We bedshared for a couple of months when she was younger but she's a bed hog and she sleeps MUCH better in her crib. We live in a large one bedroom apartment and are in the process of buying a (foreclosed) home. As soon as we move she gets her own room. When she wakes up during the night she just kind of whines until I come get her. I have the feeling if I wasn't there she would just go back to sleep. I know she does during her daytime nap. However, because we're all in the same room it's just easier to pick her up, nurse her and go back to sleep.
I daytime weaned around a year. I just couldn't do it that much during the day and night and she had no problem with a straw sippy. I did it over a 2week span and she did really well. She will occasionally tug at my shirt and sign and ask for "milp or mack." If it's during the day I just tell her she can have big girl milk and get her sippy. Sometimes her raspy little "Peas" get me and I cave :P

thanks for sharing! we've been bed sharing since about 8 mths. hoping to wean & move him to his own crib in his own room...eventually! I think I'll try the straw dippy too!

No problem :-) You'll have to keep us updated on how weaning and bed transition goes. Hopefully we both have smooth transitions and sleeping babies!

We're still averaging about 4 or 5 times a day, I think (I don't really keep track). But she's so active that, except for the first time in the morning, I pretty much have to let her stand to nurse. If I try to hold her, she wriggles and it takes forever. She also now insists on having both boobs out so she can switch back and forth at her leisure. But we're only giving her bm and water, and I want to keep going as long as she wants (within reason - if she's still going strong at 2 I'll probably start to wean her).
Most days we're at 2 times a day (morning and before bed). But on the weekends I still do a nursing session when he gets up from his nap, so that pushes us to 3.
(And while we were at the inlaws and he was waking up all night asking for "more milk" it was closer to 5. But they also had no food in the house, so he was probably super hungry at night.)
Yup. We still BF first thing in the morning, before bed and sometimes before naps, so anywhere between 2 and 4 times a day.
DD can go without any of those BF sessions if I'm not around, but if I'm there, she definitely wants them. She also randomly asks for "boobs" throughout the day but I try and distract her with something else.
I'm planning on getting rid of all daytime sessions after the new year so that it won't be so rough on her when baby number 2 arrives. I don't mind nursing in the morning and before bed as long as she wants.
ETA: I don't mean I will nurse her until she's 10 or anything, ftr. I'd wean completely by 2 or 2 1/2.
