Snarky and T-TTC

Did everyone survive?

I know the holidays can be family overload sometimes.  Any good stories to share?

Re: Did everyone survive?

  • Hello!

I'm new to The Bump and meandered over here after what was probably the worst Christmas ever.  First of all, my DH and I have been TTC since June '12.  To say we are hurting would be an understatement.  With every AF, we fall deeper and deeper into depression.

On Christmas Day, it wasn't enough to find out one of our friends is KU again with #2, but my 36 year old sister informed our whole family at breakfast that she was again pregnant with #3. Then she proceeded to make comments about not wanting the baby and how upset she is over the pregnancy.  DH and I sat and listened to this crap the entire day and evening.

When we returned home, we had a blow-out fight.  It started with my saying I couldn't do it anymore, and ended with him sobbing and begging me to continue.  This Christmas goes down as the worst in history.

  • Hey there! Been a crazy week around here. Have been meaning to jump on and post this myself :)   Christmas was good. We were at my sister's house. Surprisingly no family drama, which is a first for me, haha. One big annoying thing though? My fridge broke. Christmas morning. Not so fun. Bought a new one yesterday, was supposed to be delivered today...didn't come. Supposedly it's coming tomorrow.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but this is not the right board for you.  Try TTGP.

  • We survived OK, minus a horrible fall down the stairs.  I'm so sore and bruised, but thankfully Baby Avocado made it through my fall a-okay!

MH is back to work (on nights), so it's nice to have some quiet around the house before I go back to work on Wednesday!

  • Oy. Barely.

    My recap:

Closed on house on Tuesday (difficult and ridiculous, but house is ours)
Spent Weds - Fri am packing.
    Friday: moved into new house.
Sat - Sun, unpacked, sorted and put away 95% of belongings.
Monday travelled to ILS for Christmas Eve
Tuesday hosted Christmas for ILS, including a sleepover for 4.
Weds - Friday slept all freaking day.

    Things you should know:

The TV must always be on, and never at anything less than window throbbing volume. Regardless if other people in the room are trying to talk and visit.

Even though you move into a new house less than 72 hours before hosting Christmas, you will be reminded of everything your house is lacking. As in, things you have yet to find, put away or purchase.

When you ask everyone to ignore your shy dog, they will inevitably spend the entire time trying to pet, call and focus attention on shy dog. Which will cause her to bark incessantly. This will be your fault.

ETS-- wow about you ILs. I give you mad props for not going off on them.

  • Wait, what? You're hurting because you've been TTC for 6 whole months??? You're on the wrong board cupcake.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

I'm not sure "hurting" is the right adjective :/

  • I survived.  I've been missing from these parts, mostly because work has been insane.  I've been working 9+ hours everyday, and I'm exhausted.

We got a new iPad 2 for Christmas, so now we both have iPads!  Yay!

My mom is in town now.  I love her but she drives me crazy.  But I keep saying that I'd  rather her drive me crazy than not be here.  So the holidays have been kind.

    Miss you ladies!
