Cute maternity clothes?

Any ideas where to find cute, affordable stuff? Most of my clothes still fit....I've been wearing a Bella band with my jeans, but I don't want to spend a fortune. Destination Maternity looks expensive. Gap, old navy and target only offer maternity clothes online.....I think? What about Lucky?

Thanks!!!!

Re: Cute maternity clothes?

  • My target carries them in store and so does my old navy, albeit a very small section.

There are several consignment shops that sell maternity as well as some dedicated specifically to maternity and I had some good luck there.

I've heard Burligton Coat Factory has very good prices but I haven't checked it out yet. Also, some department stores Macy's, kohls, JC Penneys, etc have maternity sections.

  • Certain Gap stores carry maternity. I just picked up dress pants, jeans, a dress, and a shirt in-store. The best part was that the pants were 50% off, and the dress was only $14 due to multiple mark downs. Usually Gap Maternity is in a store that sells Gap Kids/Baby. Also, nothing wrong w/ ordering online. Many of the items you can return in-store.

I'm a Gap maternity devotee. I haven't been able to find anything as quality at the price point Gap offers, especially when things are on sale. I find that most other brands are over priced and low quality.

  • I have always done great on Target's clearance racks. I love Gap maternity -- their clothes hold up better than Target, but only worth it if on sale IMO. I would check ebay and/or Craig's List too. I just bought a HUGE tub of clothes for $100 -- seriously over 200 items  -- and turned around and sold some items that were too big or NMS on ebay -- I sold a lot of 8 pair of shorts for $15 so you can definitely get some good deals. IMO, pants especially do not get that worn out and can be a good deal to buy used.

  • I agree with this 100% ... It's my 4th pregnancy, so learned the hard way with other brands, they fall apart so fast.

  • The Burlington in my area has a SMALL maternity section. I'm not sure about others as this is the only one I've been in. I managed to find a nice pair of jeans and two decent looking shirts for under $60. I think it's just kinda hit and miss with cute clothes there. Old Navy has a clearence section on their website for maternity. I'm not sure what the return policy would be on that though
  • Oops I meant to agree with Xles10, but must have did something wrong, :-)

  • I should add, I never buy anything full priced at Gap Maternity! There is always a sale. My big splurge items (after getting my bonus from work) was buying two maternity sweaters that I only got 20% off on. To me, only 20% off is like paying full price. I got a lot of great stuff w/ my first pregnancy on sale or on clearance. The only reason I'm buying more stuff is because I'm smaller now than I was when I was at this same point with DS, so my old stuff is all too big (but I'm still out growing my regular  stuff).

Also, these are the best pants for work and they're 50% off in-store.  https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=6026&vid=1&pid=849050002

  • I have been pretty happy with Old Navy. I also got a few tops at Kohl's that I really like (and they were super cheap with the sale and the % off mailer).

  • I've seen some pretty cute things at Target and Kohl's.  I was just browsing though so I can't attest to the quality.
  • My old navy, gap and target all sell maternity in store.  In fact, our target has a pretty large maternity section.  Old Navy's maternity section is pretty small, however, if you check out their clearance, they usually have some good deals on maternity.  I've also found a couple of our upscale second hand stores have maternity that is still cheaper than regular stores.  Places like Ross and TJ Max have maternity too, if you are willing to dig for the right size.  Keep looking, you'll find something soon!

  • This website has super cute clothes. Haven't ordered from them yet to tell you the quality of the clothes but I think it has pretty reasonable prices

  • Goodwill, thrift stores, and eBay! Why pay more when others have already?! Plus, they're gently used and depending on where you shop, like Goodwill/Salvatipn Army, you may even benefit the community.
Trick is knowing your size when ordering online, but eBay is especially helpful because there are maternity lots of multiple shorts, pants, tops, and more for cheap.
