Rec your camera

I am thinking about buying a new camara, one that is not too expensive and not too big and bulky. Please, recommend your camera....

Point and shoot....I think? I was never into pictures until I had LO, so I know pretty much nothing about cameras. Now I am taking pics on my iphone and the pic quality sucks so it is time to be a big girl and get a real camera.

  • You are in the davenport quad cities area right? Go to Camera corner, the younger guy that works there is fantastic, even if you don't buy from them he is super helpful. I'm no help with point and shoots sorry! if you are looking for a DSLR I have a ton of opinions.

Thanks so much! I am in the Davenport area and will have to check out Camera Corner. I would love some insight into DSLR.....are they complicated? I feel like it would be above my head. Are they pretty big or can you get smaller ones?

I think Sony makes a really small one and honestly if you aren't in to manuel shooting probably a point and shoot with be just as good and way cheaper. We love our dslr but if we were going to use the point and shoot features we'd just get a point and shoot camera. Our canon t3i was 1000...

I have a canon sx30. It is a point and shoot, but it also has every manual setting a dslr does, but you can't change the lens. So my h can pick it up and use it, but I can adjust aperture, SS etc if I want to. It's called a bridge camera because it is between point and shoot and slr.

This would be a great camera for someone in between, I love my DSLRs but I shoot weddings for a living. DSLRs can be complicated and aren't great to just grab and take some quick fun pictures. I am actually looking into a bridge camera so I can have a camera that I can toss in the diaper bag and what not.

  • Nikon 1 Best camera I've ever had. It's a point and shoot and DSLR combined. It's small but you can change the lenses. It's expensive but my BIL just told me it is 50 off right now at Sam's.
