Does anyone know of unscented stretch mark lotion/cream? I have the Palmers Coco Butter, but the chocolate smell makes me nauseous. Any recommendations out there?
I agree that scent is aweful to me too! I used it with DS1, with DS2 I just used a thick body cream and had the same results. I think the key is to keep your skin very hydrated which increases its elasticity.
I would save your money and get some Shea butter or coconut oil. The closest thing to unscented I found was Palmers oil.
If you are looking to prevent stretch marks you are wasting your time. Moisture is great but skin elasticity is genetic. You are going to get SM if you are going to get them.
Im using Genes Vitamin E Creme Swiss Collagen Complex. I actually got it before I was pregnant. When I did get pregnant I looked it up and a lot of women use it and say it prevents stretchmarks really well so I started using it on my stomach. It's not unscented but it's definitely not overpowering. I got a 16oz tub from Sam's Club for like $5.00.
I used Palmers oil last pregnancy, not lotion. It still had a scent but I could deal with it.
One girl told me to use a sugar scrub in the shower on my belly and hips and then use the OIL post shower. She and her sister swore by it.
So I started doing it around 4 months and didn't get stretch marks my last pregnancy.
BUT - I'm pretty sure Prim is right about it being hereditary. Ask your mom if she got stretch marks. I got the advise from sisters and my mom did not get stretch marks during her pregnancies so ...

Burt's bee's mamma bee belly butter doesn't have a scent. It's a little expensive but it's wonderful and not greasy at all. Has shae butter and vitamin e. I've been using it for weeks and it actually reduced the redness of previous stretch marks I had from when I gained a lot of weight in college.
Glad to hear the smell of cocoa butter is gross to someone else as well! I am accepting the fact that I will have stretch marks and just using some Cetaphil sensitive lotion for dry skin.
