Okay, so LO loves bananas -- totally fiends for them like a junkie would for his fix. Seriously. She would eat infinite amounts of bananas if I'd let her, and as soon as she's done with one she whines for more.
Last night, she woke up around 12:30 and was standing up in her crib crying, just saying "Na-na, na-na, na-na" over and over again. This was after eating a substantial dinner, so it's not like she'd gone to bed starving or anything. She eats well, gets plenty of fluids, and enjoys a very diverse diet with no allergies, pickiness, etc. Just REALLY likes bananas, I guess.
So what's the general opinion? Give hungry toddler food in the middle of the night? Or just tell her it's bedtime and let her scream until she exhausts herself? I don't want to mess up meal times/routines or encourage poor eating habits. But on the other hand, I feel like if she's going through a growth spurt or something she may be legitimately hungry. I know it's okay to be hungry between meals, but I feel awful just ignoring her hunger cires.
Thanks in advance for all your advice; I appreciate it.
Re: WWYD: Crying for food in the middle of the night
I personally wouldn't give her anything at 1230am--I think that would cause more problems than a 70 calorie banana would fix, ya know?
Can you offer a pre-bedtime snack in hopes of her lasting through the night?
How was she at sleeping through the night prior to this?

I agree with this.
She WAS great at STTN until about 2 weeks ago when three teeth came in at once, and she's been waking 1 or 2 times in the night now. Ugh.
I just gave her water and put her back to bed, but then I got to feeling guilty when her cries were eating away at my brain and stuff. Guess I was just second guessing my decision.
Thanks for the reassurance!
