I've been debating about getting the Fisher Price Rock n Play for DS2. A lot of the reviews I'm reading online are saying that it causes Torticullis. What are your experiences with the RnP? How long did you use it for? Did you have any issues with Torticullis or baby developing a flat head?
Re: Debating on RnP... Torticullis
DD had torticullis and slept in the RNP for the first 5 months. BUT torticullis was NOT caused by the RNP, (it can develop in the womb) but it did exacerbate the problem of her developing a flat head.
DD went to PT once, (at 2 months) we learned some easy excercises to do with her and learned about switching up what side her toys were on, the way she faced on the changing table, etc. We also got a Boppy noggin nest for the RNP. Her head resolved itself and now she has a perfect little noggin.
We will definitely use the RNP again with #2. But we will put the noggin nest in after LO is a month or two. DD had reflux and it was a lifesaver to have her sleep inclined. She refused to lay flat, ever. Even when awake.

DD has slept in hers from just a few days old with the exception of a month when she was 4 months old. Due to 8-10 night wakings for a month (
), we put her back in the RnP and she is sleeping well again. Anyway, zero issues with flat head here but she is really good about changing head positions on her own throughout the night and has done so from fairly early on. She also loves being worn and loves tummy time.
I love that stupid RnP...
Thank you for the information ladies! I've been scanning reviews all night and a lot of what I've found has linked the Torticullis just to the model that is currently on sale for $37 on Amazon. They are saying that there is a hard plastic in the head rest area that is exacerbating the condition. Reviews are also saying that Fisher Price has corrected the problem in newer models by removing the plastic and adding the snugabunny pillows for better head support.
My guess is they are currently on sale because Fisher Price is releasing next year's models next month and is getting ready to discontinue the old ones. I think we are probably going to get one, but I'm going to wait and see if the Snugabunny model goes on sale between now and my due date. If it's a difference of $10 between getting one with hard plastic and one with proper head support, I'd rather pay the $10.
Feel free to correct me if I'm misinformed. I'm literally just parroting the information that I've been reading on the web. Thanks for all the help ladies!

We have the yellow one (the original one) and we have no issues with torticollis. I have also read those reviews and was concerned, so I did 2 things:
1) I put a folded blanket on top of the hard plastic (underneath the fabric) to pad
2) I made sure LO isn't in the RnP for long periods of time
We used the RnP for the first month of DS's life. We only used it at night, and only for the first half of the night, so I'd say DS was in the RnP for no longer than 4 hours a day. We put DS in the RnP to fall asleep (cuz he was fussy), then after the MOTN feed, we move him into the crib to sleep for the rest of the night. He is usually pretty drowsy MOTN and he has no trouble sleeping in the crib.
We weaned him off the RnP after the first month. Now he sleeps in the crib all night long. Having said that, the RnP was really useful at the beginning as it was so hard to get him to fall asleep in the crib due to fussiness.
