Hello. I am a mom of an almost 10 yo DD and an 8 yo DS. They are both very active. I am due with #3 5/8/2013. We live in the south (GA). We pretty much live outside at the pool during the summer. I am curious if anyone can guide my expectations for a may baby and summer activities. Is it too hot to take the baby to the pool? Or,mas long as there's shade and pool to cool off will we be ok? Also, been thinking about getting an Uppababy stroller with bassinet feature for taking to the pool. Thought baby could just sleep in there. Do you think I will se that feature or will we really be housebound? Thanks for any advice/help!

Re: Help a mama out please, ?s about May due date
If you get lo used to being out and about from the start you should be fine kids are very flexible until you make them creatures of schedule.
Seriously? Wraps you wear in the water? So glad I asked. I never would have even thought of this! It's been a long time and I can't believe how much has changed. Ok, so all this is very helpful! Keep the advice coming! Thank you!
Great advice. It gets very hot here 90+ and humid. So, that is a factor. I was hoping for quiet mornings at home and afternoons at the pool to cool off. I'll make sure we have lots of onesies. Thanks!
Thank u, thank u, thank u! I am definitely going to check the stroller out.
I live in North Florida (so similar climate), and we were able to do some outdoor stuff in May/early June but not hours on end. Once July and August got into full swing with relentless heat, we didn't do too much outdoors. DD would become a sweaty, grouchy beast just being in her carseat and going to the store, so we didn't hang outside too much then.
Love this advice!
Thank you. This is great advice! I will remember this. This baby was a miraculous much wanted but not planned gift. We've had many fertility trials and had finally decided to stop and bam. Anyway, this is not the timing I would have planned if this was planned, so it's making me nervous. But, I will just keep reminding myself to go with the flow and I'm sure as long as I'm calm, the kids will (hopefully) follow suit. I do remember being at the pool with dd over the summer, but she was a February baby, so a little older by time it was super hot.
Thanks, again, everybody for taking time to respond.
We had a very hot summer with many code red days, so I didn't feel comfortable keeping the baby outside for very long. I did take her swimming in the evenings when the sun started to set. Sometimes MIL would hold her sitting out of the pool and sometimes I'd take her in the pool with me, until she got fussy.
