The post below about the bottles of BM made me wonder how many oz your LO is getting each day. Millie used to eat around 25-30, but she's slowed down to 20-25 over the past few days.
I remember hearing that they need twice their weight in oz. Is that still true?
How much does your LO weigh and how many oz are they getting?
Re: EP: How many oz per day?
Not true. They need anywhere from 19-30 oz. a day. It doesn't change much until (around) 6 months, when it decreases slightly to make room for solids, and then it stays generally the same until 1 year.
Charlotte weighs ~18 pounds right now, and on days where she gets all bottles or mostly bottles, she gets maybe 25 oz. a day. She has had her piglet days where she took closer to 40 oz, but those are very rare.
Hunter takes either 3 or 4 bottles during the day while I am at work, so that is 12-16 ounces. I BF him the rest of the time, so probably twice after work, and once in the night, and once when I first wake up in the morning. So I guess that's about 32 ounces a day at the most.
He weighed 13 pounds at his 2 month appointment and he doesn't go back for a couple more weeks for his 4 month. I'd guess he weighs about 16. Never heard anything specific about how many ounces he should get. I never asked because I never really experienced any significant problems feeding him.
