I feel super behind on finishing our nursery, most of my friends and family had their nurseries done by 7 months. I've been working on it slowly, we have ninety percent of everything we need but its just a matter of actually doing it and putting it together. I just walk by the nursery and go bleh, then compensate by cleaning the house instead. I think I'm avoiding it because I have so many projects that I wanted to do but just don't have time to complete.
How much do you ladies have done? Post some pictures if your nursery is in a presentable state!

Re: How complete is your nursery?
We put together the majority of it back in the summer when we got the furniture, but then it became a dumping ground for all things baby so there needs to be some major organization in there! My mom is actually coming over today to help me finish - I will definitely post pictures later on!
I'm sure once you start putting yours together you'll knock the whole thing out. That's usually how I am with big projects. It's just the matter of getting going!
I'm in a similar boat as you! We have the room painted and the flooring is in but the furniture isn't expected to arrive until February 12! My due date is the 9th
. We really wanted the baby to go right into his/her crib but it's looking like the pack n play might be our only option. We also need to get the closet organizer put in so that I can start washing and organizing some items. Everything from the shower is piled into bags in another room. I'm getting worried because my family doesn't seem to think I'll make it to my due date (even though I haven't had any BH or other signs).... I'm hoping my hubby can get the closet completed this coming weekend. We'll see...
Good luck on getting your room completed!

I bribed DH yesterday. I told him he can upgrade his computer when the nursery is done.
We are actually in pretty good shape. We had the room painted and plans for new carpet before I was even pregnant, so that worked in our favor. The crib and glider are put together and ready to go. All the blankets, sheets, and clothes have been washed and put away either in the dresser or under the crib. The pack-n-play is set up because we'll be using that as our changing table. DH installed new closet doors a few weeks ago. All I really need to do yet is get some shelves hung so I have more places to put things (it's a very small room), and I'm going to be ordering some wall decals for decoration. I also want to get the closet doors painted.
Disclaimer: I don't have any other kids and only work part-time, so I do have a decent amount of time on my hands to get things ready!

This except this is #1 and #2. We have the cribs up, closet organized and this week I am washing all bedding, inserts like the rnp, swings, and clothes. We are on a much shorter time table as my doctor told me to put my hospital bag in the car as we could be any time now with the twins. Plus my mobility is out the window so I wanted to get it all done while I could still move.
I will say due to space restrictions where we live, the boys will be in their room from day one so I was extremely motivated to get it done plus I cheated and had a bunch of help from my mom and MIL. Now the rest of my house, not so much!

The closet is ready...that's about it.
I had my first small family shower two days ago, but am waiting on other showers in January to get more of what we need.
Today is the day we move out the furniture that is currently in there and do a little deep cleaning. I have one bookshelf and a glider, so DH and my dad are making a trip to Ikea to get our crib and dresser and put them together.
Slowly but surely? I'm not real worried.
We have our nursery mostly set up.... Is the decorations and accessories I am working on this week. We have hardwood floors, so I want an area rug, 3-stage lamp, some storage bins for our change station. I still need to wash all clothing and bedding and sterilize toys and bottles.
That, and a family friend is coming next week to paint a tree on the wall.
I am picking up most of the stuff we need this week, but I am still deciding if I should wait to wash and clean everything in February. We are due on the 19th and my last day of work is on then1st.
UGH. Basically nothing. I need to get cracking! I am making my office into the nursery so I have not been super motivated. Hoping to work on it this week though now that the holidays are over. Still waiting on bedding and drapes I ordered months ago and the glider is FINALLY in so I can pick that up this week YAY.

We have not done anything. We have a queen sized bed in the room right now that we were waiting until after Christmas to sell so we could get DD a twin bed. SO, it's time to do that. I don't plan on doing a lot anyways. I want to paint the room, get some curtains, and hang a couple of pictures/her name. We have to transition the crib to a toddler bed for a few weeks to get DD used to it, and I'd like to have the crib in the baby's room for at least a few weeks before she goes into the crib (hopefully at around 3 mos) so that DD isn't dealing w/ the shock of a new baby PLUS that new baby taking her bed, lol!
Oh man...and I have 6.5 weeks....hopefully...lol.

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:26-27&33-34

Ours is mostly done as off today. I have some things that need to be taken out and the sheets need elastic in them
Our nursery is simple though, built in wardrobe (no other clothing storage), Ikea crib that was just moved from DD's bedroom but needs to be put back on the NB setting, a chair from Ikea and a cabinet that was in there from when I used the room as an office.
We put the decal up a few weeks ago and aren't painting the walls as the wardrobe is a nice grey color and we're using that as our "accent wall".

Well, considering it is still set up as a guest bedroom....I can assure you we are not even close! My dad and DH have been doing some remodeling on the main floor to convert an unused living room into an office. It is almost done at which point the guest bed will be moved into the former upstairs office and we can paint the nursery and put it together.
We have the crib from DD and I have the fabric to make the bedding for the nursery. Dresser is ordered as are the curtains. The baby will be in a bassinet in our room, so it isn't critical that the nursery is perfect...but I want it to be!
Hmmm, well the crib is still disassembled in the attic. We haven't decided whether his crib is going in our room or his sisters room (we have a two bedroom house so in the end all three will be bunking in together for at least a while) and haven't looked for new bedding since the bedding we used for the girls was pink and flowered. I'll be getting a bunch of clothes this weekend because my cousin has a son and is due the same week I am with a girl, so we're switching our clothing collections. He has a new carseat to come home in and there's a pack n play at my mom's (right around the corner, so no hassle), so worst case scenario my mom and DH would have to scramble while I'm in the hospital to make sure he has a ride home and somewhere to sleep lol!
Once the holidays are over (which to me is after New Years) then we'll start figuring out what we need to do before he arrives and setting things up.
I'm getting there. I need to make curtains and a couple of little DIY things. Also, we don't have a crib mattress but we registered for one. After the shower if I don't have one, we'll get one.
My SIL has gotten nowhere with hers. She is only 3 weeks behind me and her nursery is still full of junk like treadmills and such. So don't feel too bad!
I love that tree by the crib!
I got her clothes sorted today.... Uh that's it. Got all of her newborn to 3m stuff out in the closet organizer everything else is in bags and boxes still. All the Christmas storage is in there currently so I need to get all that down and stored elsewhere. Then I still need the crib (which I believe my dad is getting us late this month), a dresser, and a book shelf. I have the stroller/carseat in there and ready to go if we need to take off and possible return with baby early. I have a rocking chair? Does that count as more ready? Lol. Really I won't finish until probably late this month, since money is so tight and we still need some big ticket stuff.
We still need carpeting. We are down to the subfloor in the nursery. We are putting a deposit down with a company today, so I'm hoping they can come in ASAP and get it done. Then we need to order the crib and get everything in to the room. I was starting to panic, but we do have the walls painted and the mural is just about done, so it's really just filling the room. And since he'll spend a little time with us, we have time, so I'm not quite as freaked about it as I was.
Here are a couple of photos of the mural. I need to add more leaves, the trees need some more detail and the one bear still needs a nose. Other than that, I have to figure out the bears eyes... the black blends in too much.
wow, Heartstrings, that mural is AMAZING!!! did you paint that yourself?!
beautiful!
Have to say, reading these other posts it's nice to know I'm not totally alone. Our nursery is still a guest bedroom, and it needs to be painted. I had originally thought I couldn't do any of the painting, but I might end up chipping in because I don't think it will get done otherwise!!!
We have furniture (crib, tall dresser, double dresser/changing table, and rocker) all ordered, but like some others, it is likely it won't arrive until after the baby is here!
We do have a cradle that my late father-in-law built that is in our bedroom for baby's first month or so, so hopefully we'll be okay for a little while, although I would love for the furniture to get here early!!!
Thanks.
We actually cheated a little and used a projector to trace most of the images on the wall and then painted them. Some of the details are free hand, but it would be a disaster if I tried to draw large scale. haha.
