So frustrated UPDATE welcome Ellie!

DH gave me a cold starting last Friday. Yesterday I woke up with contractions, discharge an spotting. The on call midwife reassured me all would be ok and to call if things started to progress more timeable and stronger. Nothing timeable yesterday but contractions all day. Exhausted too because I'm barely getting sleep with all the stuffiness of this cold.

Thought things were calming down last night and I could get some sleep but no such luck. I've been up all night and contractions got stronger. Even lost a ton of what I think is mucus plug. Appt today with midwife, so ill hopefully see how things are going from the professional point of view, but boy do I wish I could sleep a little bit :

Just last week the dr gave me an ambien so that I could get through one night with some good sleep. It was the best night ever! Ask for an ambien.

Thanks for the suggestion. Contractions now 5 min apart. Going in for labor checkup when the office opens to see where we're at. Seems like I'll just have to push through the lack of sleep

I'm right there with you! I have a cold and a kidney infection so sleep has been minimal this week. Started having contractions yesterday at 1pm 36 min apart for 7 hours then they stopped. I slept for 4 hours and they have started again. I think I'll be calling my ob to see what she's thinking today. Good luck! I hope you get some rest soon :

Good luck! If you don't want to take anything as strong as Ambien, my OB recommend Unisom when we had the stomach flu. He said it would help take the edge off so I could rest and boy did it.

They sent me back home 80 effaced and 1 cm dilated. I was instructed to 2 Benadryl and a hot bath. I woke up 1.5 hours later, contractions were much stronger and called the doula. 2 hr later, went into ld, only 2 to 3 cm and 95 effaced. 1 hr later, water broke. 2 hr later, 4 to 5 cm. 1 hr later, 10cm. 40 min later little Ellie joined this world. I'm so enthralled : photos on the blog later!!!!
