Waiting...Ugh...

It seems so many are going early. I feel pressure and that twinges in my lady area for days but I have not lost my plug (that I know of) or had any bloody discharge. I have no idea if I'm dilated or effaced. Tomorrow I have a dr. Apt and ultra sound but this waiting and unknown is killing me.

Ditto. I know we could have another 2+ weeks if LO is comfy in there, so trying to enjoy the time we have left.

My husband and I are doing stuff new parents cannot, going out to dinner, taking showers together, watching loud movies...if I only I could partake in some adult beverages.

This is what we are doing, we are anxious/excited but we are trying to enjoy couple time now. Plus I clean/straighten the house everyday so I can feel good about the house when it comes time to head to the hospital! I know it's such a little/unimportant thing but it makes me feel more relaxed!

    Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

  • The waiting is driving me crazy as well. Just remember even if you are dilated and you lose your mucus plug it doesn't mean you'll go into labor right away. I'm three cm, have lost bits of my mucus plug, doctor says baby is engaging, and here I sit still waiting. When I had DS however, there was ZERO progress. Then I woke up with contractions the morning before I was scheduled to be induced and he was in my arms 6 hours later. Just goes to show how unpredictable this whole process is. It won't be long now :D

  • I think I'm the only one trying NOT to have a baby right now. Everyone else seems so ready and I'm trying to go late so Mr. will be able to Skype with us. I need this boy to stay in until at least the 19th of January!

  • Waiting is hard but I agree with PP. DH and I are trying to do things that new parents can't such as going out to dinner and making spur of the moment plans. We have already planned a breakfast/lunch date for next weekend and made some plans for New Years eve since we know it will be our last one alone.

Pretty much from the beginning I said baby would go to her due date so we are totally expecting to have an inside baby for another 2 weeks or so. It is hard when you have those little pains and wonder if maybe, just maybe, its the start of something. My doctor doesn't begin internal checks till 39 weeks so we have no way of knowing if we are dilated any at all which is probably better because otherwise we would be expecting labor any day.

  • I'm feeling the same way! My whole family keeps saying they think he's coming this week, which isn't helping. I know we all just want healthy babies, but the waiting is killing me! I've also become increasingly uncomfortable and swollen so I'm ready! I have a doc appt tomorrow too so I'm hoping for the best! Good luck!

  • I keep thinking that it'll be at least 1 to 2 more weeks for us, because I feel fine. Minor aches and swelling, but I'm luckily not miserable. Do some women go into labor full term w/out feeling the complete misery that you hear most women experiencing?

No, you are SMART to have the house straightened - I was counting on that "nesting" energy to kick in when it was time, and that didn't happen - ugh, we came home to a bit of disorganization and mess - lots of things still piled in his crib, etc. Thankfully my mom stopped by and did some basic things like clean the bathroom and do my dirty dishes still in the sink, but I definitely had to wash the sheets after my water broke plus lots more...ugh!

Thank you for posting this! I've been getting SO frustrated with all of it.

To top it off, my husband's best friend's wife (a girl who drives me absolutely nuts-everything comes SO easy to her) had her baby yesterday. She was due 5 days after me.

They were one of those "1st month trying and we're pregnant!" couples. Meanwhile, we had infertility problems and 3 miscarriages. I am SOOO jealous of her, and it makes me so mad.

AND, my parents live 12 hours away and were supposed to come down tomorrow. My mom is sick with bronchitis and is going to wait, and my dad has decided that going to a Christmas with his new in-laws is more important than being here for me for the birth of his granddaughter and my birthday on 12/30. Grr.

I'm with ya!  I don't know that I'm necessarily trying to go to far past my EDD, but I'm NOT ready yet!  Everyone starting to have their babies is kind of freaking me out.  We don't have anything ready for the baby and I'm just not mentally prepared yet.  2 days ago I noticed some changes in my body that basically slapped me in the face that I'm really close to having this baby.  I need a couple more weeks though.  If baby will just stay put until at least 39 weeks I will be ready then.  My husband keeps telling me that I need to get ready now JIC, but I'm stubborn and I keep saying baby isn't coming earlier than 39 weeks :)

Not me.  I'm sure these women exist, but I don't want to know about it ;)

Although, I must say, I feel so much better right now than I did with DS so I'm counting my lucky stars.  I'm still rather uncomfortable, but I know it could be a whole lot worse!  I think this plays into my not being ready.  I don't feel as far along as I actually am because I keep comparing it to my experience last time.  That's a good thing, I guess!
