Ok I am NOT liking this RSV. I did not sleep at all last night. I had DD sleep in her swing so she had a bit of an incline. I ran the humidifier and laid on the couch next to her making she sure was breathing all night long. She had a few coughing fits that about scared me to death! Literally so hard that she couldn't breathe.. kinda like when they cry really hard but way worse. I set the alarm on my phone every 2 hours just in case I dosed off.. just to make sure she ate something and got some fluids. She's exclusively breast fed so that's really all I can do as far as fluids go. She ate well this morning.. like actually seemed hungry and into it. I've been using the aspirator every time before she eats. She's had a wet diaper at every feeding so that's good.
Ugh. I called her pediatrician this morning. He told me when we were there Friday that he would be around and to call and leave a message. I don't know if they're open today or not but the ER told me to schedule a follow up immediately for her so I just left them a message.. told them how the night was and hopefully they call me back. I will go immediately to ER if she's bad today though.
Merry Christmas everyone! Hopefully everyone else is doing great and please keep my little girl in your thoughts for a speedy recovery!!
Re: RSV = scary s$@#!
Super big ::hugs::
I didn't have to deal with RSV, but I am working in our clinic today so I hope your doc calls you back quickly!
Thoughts for you & your little girl.

I'm glad she's still eating well and having plenty if wet diapers. I hope she starts feeling better soon and that both of you get some rest tonight.

andrea- sooo helpful. I am only breastfeeding but I've been pumping too. I have some frozen that I could thaw if it's easier for her to take. I have one bottle in the fridge too. The doctor is supposed to call me back anytime now so I will for sure ask about the pedialyte and send DH out for some if they advise it.
She doesn't seem to have as much of a fever today but I've noticed the up and down too. One minute she's 99.. the next she's 100.1.. then she's 98.8.. then 100.. it's been up and down since Thursday.
Her diapers have been super wet. Like last night I changed her and two hours later she was soaked. THat makes me think that she's eating enough. She hasn't been feeding quite as long but I was also thinking about doing a bottle so I could see how many oz she's taking for sure.
I initially took her in Friday morning with concerns of dehydration.. didn't think we'd end up here. So scary. I hate every minute of it.
DD had RSV at 3 months and it SUCKED!! I can't imagine how scary it is at just over a month.
You are doing such a great job making sure she is hydrated and breathing well. I hope she gets better soon. ((hugs))
