For mobile users: Pinterest Project - Layla's Kitchen set
I've been seeing all the kitchens made out of entertainment centers, one would be too big for our house, so we found a microwave cart (perfect height!!) for $20 on facebook's swap buy sell site for my area, and a few thrifted finds from catholic charities/salvation army and voila! It's not quite done yet, but this is "under" the tree for tomorrow (We're celebrating tomorrow b/c of MH's work schedule), I cannot wait for her to play with it!! (She's actually seen it already but i've hidden it for a few days so it will be "new" again She also is opening a box of play food & untensils to play with it. We're planning to put a shelf inside the doors (it's all open), and cut one of these doors into an oven & a microwave, but we haven't had time. Enjoy!!

Love this Angel! You are awesome. I have a folder on my pinterest entitled DIJ. It stand for Do it J(H's name) and I have a couple of these style play kitchen's bookmarked. It's definitely on his project list.
LCass you will have to post a pictures of yours as well.
Thanks! I love that your DIY board is DIJ
I'm damn proud of this project, the ONLY thing I didn't do is cut out the holes for the sink/faucet... I drew the lines, and told MH how to cut them out and he did it, other than that I did EVERYTHING from sanding/stripping, to painting, removing and re-attaching hardware - Nearly having a meltdown b/c I couldn't figure out how the strange looking hinges went back on the doors - to putting on the 'burners" I have knobs to attach for the burners but I need to drill pilot holes b/c they're flat screws not pointed ones, and we don't have the drill bits here - they're at my FIL's but we'll get those on sooner rather than later.
The shelf will probably happen next week, we didn't have the right size wood on hand, and I was too busy to pick it up and get it done, but she'll love it the way it is so I''m happy with it!
Thanks ladies! and LCass I can't wait to see yours too!!
Wow, this is so awesome! You are my Pinterest inspiration. I want to do this, and seeing your beautiful project, it makes me want to do it. I can't wait to see more pictures of it being used.
How was the faucet to install? Also, where did you get the 'burners'? I'm sure that I would be the head contractor on this project, if I chose to do it.
the faucet is the spray pump off an old broken spritzer bottle for watering seedlings, the burners are pieces off sweedish cookie presses (I found them for 50 cents a piece at catholic charities thrift store), the bowl was a 59 cent find at the salvation army - I like how it has the extra lip on each side I glued it down with liquid nails. The faucet we just drilled a hole for the "hose" part, and then glued down the ring around it.
And thank you
Here's a picture of her this morning with the apron my aunt got her:
