BFP then Bleeding :(
I got a positive result Wednesday on two digital tests. I was so excited to be able to tell our family at Christmas. Friday morning I started bleeding. I'm assuming I miscarried but only have info from the Internet. I called the doctor and he said to wait it out till wed and test again. Does anyone know how long they tell you to wait if you miscarry to start TTC again? Some things I read say that you can bleed and still be pregnant. I'm trying not to get my hopes up but it's so hard bc it was so close and then taken away. Thanks for any support or advice.

after a m/c some doctors say you can try right away, some say wait a cycle, some say wait 3 cycles. it depends.
yes people can bleed when pregnant and still have healthy pregnancy.
I m/c in august as soon as i saw blood he called me in for an ultrasound to see whats going on. Your doc told you to take a test in a week? even if you are m/cing you HCG levels might not be low enough to get a neg in a week.
If i were in your shoes i would call the dr demand an u/s, or go to the ER or another dr to get one. gl!

If you keep bleeding and if this infact does turn into AF, then it's called a "chemical pregnancy" and they usually say that it's safe to start TTC right away.

ETA: I agree with PP, you should get your HCG levels checked to get the "good to go" from your doctor after this.

First of all, I am sorry you are dealing with this. Has the bleeding stopped or lessened? If it turned into full-blown, red blood that is similar to a heavy period and is still present today, you are probably miscarrying.
If it stopped after one day, it may be a different story.
ETA: I agree with PPs to get your blood work done. If it is a miscarriage, there is a chance you could need a rhogam shot. I think it's pretty irresponsible for your doc to just dismiss you like that. It sounds like he was more concerned with not being bothered over the holidays. Sorry again, OP.
I'm so deeply sorry that you are going through this. Unfortunately, I had gone through the same thing in Aug. and it scared me...I received my BFP on a Saturday (4 weeks, 1 day), and started bleeding that Thurs--4 weeks, 6 days,...at first, I thought it was some 'normal' spotting, but then it picked up in intensity, and it became a full-fledge chemical pregnancy and it was as if I had my regular period, just one week late.
My doctor told me that we could wait a couple months, but in reality, it is a natural m/c (as opposed to one requiring a D&C or one where you are further along in the pregnancy as it basically resembles your period), and some women become pregnant the following month.
It is really up to you, and your comfort level...my body took a month or two to get back on 'track' so I'm still trying for my BFP...hopefully soon!!

You can go to the er, if you really want to know whats going on, and get blood work done, and take it from there.

When it started Friday I thought it was going to be a a lot but throughout the day it was more like a light period and then spotting. Yesterday I had a moment when I got out of bed in the morning that was more bleeding but then the rest of the day just spotting. Today it has just been spotting. I wouldn't say it's been like a regular period. So I'm not sure. My dr said if I came in on Friday for blood work I ouldmt have gotten the results anyway till wed bc they are closed.
It has been the same for me, getting lighter, and lighter. This sucks so bad, I'm so sorry you have to go through this as well. hugs
I did bleed twice during my pregnantcy. My doc wasn't sympathetic at all. When I called to let her know I bleeding she said well if you are miscaring there is nothing you can do. She didn't even want to see me.!!!!! And my apt was at 10 weeks and I was gosh, i think 4 weeks. I worried until i went to my appt. That's six weeks to wait!!!everything was fine. Then i bled again at 30 weeks, all was well. I went into labor at 42 weeks with a healthy baby.
I hope the same for you. Its so hard to not know!!!! Even if you knew, its the not knowing and the waiting. ;( good luck my dear. Keep us posted, I'll be checking!!!

I am also so very sorry you're going through this. Have you taken another test? I know with my chemical pregnancy, I had a few positives, theb I woke up and had a negative, and then started bleeding that day. With my second pregnancy, I formed a subchorionic hemorrhage, which made me bleed just like AF. Unfortunately, I lost that baby as well, but many women go on to have healthy pregnancies with an SH.
I hope everything turns out well for you. With both of my losses, the doctor told me I could try right away. GL!

This is going to sound strange, but when you get a larger amount of bleeding, does it feel just like a little burst of it, and then it lightens up? That's what my subchorionic hemorrhage was like. They said it was because it would fill up in there, and then need to empty. Sorry if that's gross...

I am so sorry you are dealing with this. If in fact this is a chemical pregnancy I would think you could try right away. For me, I m/c at 8 weeks naturally and had blood work done until my levels were back to 0. We started trying again 3 months later as recommended by my doctor. Two months later I was pregnant with my now 2 1/2 year old DD.

Im not sure about a little burst but it is definitely all at once and then once it's cleaned up its just spotting the rest of the time. I'm hoping it's something else and I'm still pregnant. But I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst. I haven't taken another test yet bc I don't want to get false hopes. So just going to wait till wed like the dr said. Thanks for all the support.
