As my AWESOME LB said, Faye Isabella arrived 12-20-2012 at 4:58am. 8lb 1 oz 20.75 in long. She's amazing..
Here is her story...
The days really do blur together, but it all started Tuesday.(18th) We went in to do some Cervical Ripening. We were admitted about 530 or so and about 630 the Dr. started me on Cervidil. It stayed in overnight. At 730am (19th) the nurse did a check and didn't think it made any progress, though it had started some contractions, about 6 minutes apart or so 30sec. long. The Dr came in, agreed that not much had changed and we discussed Cytotec. I was really really nervous becuase i've heard so many bad things- some good as well- but mostly bad. In the end we decided to do it, I trusted her judgement. Also, it was either that or go home... And i didn't want to go home. So from 8am-1230 I went 0cm and 20% to 2.5, almost 3 cm and 70% effaced. For the rest of the day we walked and rocked and walked some more. You can imagine my disappointment then when at 630 they checked and i had made NO PROGRESS despite having contractions every 3.5 minutes.
By now my mom and brother had arrived and were hanging out with us. My mom was thrilled when the nurse said we were starting pitocin.. (My mom is also a L&D/post postpartum nurse) at about 830 they started the pictoin.( a 911 c section made it delayed..) we moved SUPER QUICK from there. after about 2 hours or so we were at 6 and I was starting to get very uncomfy and decided to get an Epi. 1130 the Anasthesiolgist arrived just in time because i was in tears and miserable. That thing worked INSTANTLY! i swear he hadn't even finished taping everything in place and i felt 100x better. At about 130 i told the nurse i thought my epi button wasnt working. i pushed it and was still feeling pain in my bum hole area. she laughed- (apparently i was very funny all day.. I dont think so.) I was 9 cm and baby was right there.. My water stiiiiilll hadnt broken though. she told me i'd know when it was time to push...
I went another 2.5 hours before deciding it was time to push.. 4:03 I started. 4:05 my water broke. I pushed for about 30 minutes then the nurse called my doctor (she wasnt on call but said she wanted to come in to deliver Faye so i was happy). The doctor arrived about 10 minutes later. 5 pushes later Faye was born. I pushed for 55 minutes total.
I was terrified of this whole experience, and even with how painful it was it wasnt as bad as i anticipated. I kinda feel like a rockstar with how quick it went lol...
Faye is doing AMAZING with nursing... almost TO GOOD!!!
good luck to everybody who is still expecting! and congrats to everybody whose already delivered, especially those from the past few days that i havent checked!
