Hi ladies! I usually post over on GP on TN, but i figured if anyone would know, it would be you guys.
As a little background, I have anovulatory PCOS. I had no response to clomid or femara. I just had a never-ending injectables cycle (30 days of injects, starting with follistim, then menopur and an hcg trigger Monday night) and IUI Wednesday morning. I did have quite a few larger follicles at the time of trigger.
Now my question is, has anyone experienced bleedng a few days post IUI? It started as brown spotting last night and has turned into bleeding through the day today. I haven't even really soaked through a panty liner, but there's a lot of deep red blood with some small clots every time that I wipe.
I had spoken to the on-call doctor at my clinic last night, and at the time he didn't seem concerned at all. It just seems to be getting worse instead of better though and it's freaking me out.
Anyone with a similar experience? Any ideas or advice? I figure if it's still going on tomorrow morning, I'll call again.
TIA!!
Re: Bleeding after IUI
My last IUI cycle had that, and it suuuuucks. Talk about a making you absolutely nuts! IIRC, it's related to irritation of your cervix when they insert the speculum and catheter. And they had any difficulty getting the catheter in, it's probably a lot more likely.
Good luck and I hope this is it for you!
3rd cycles clomid + Ovidrel = BFN
4th cycles letrozole/Ovidrel + IUI = BFN
IVF #1 = BFP! Twins due 2/5/2014
I also just had the same thing happen, I'm on my 3rd IUI and I have never had any bleeding after until this time. It started as spotting the day after the IUI and by 3 days after I had bright red flow (like a light period) with some tiny clots. Of course I freaked out but was supposed to start crinone that night so I still did...the bleeding stopped after that. My RE had me come in for an ultrasound and my lining and everything looked ok so he really didn't know what the bleeding was from. I think it was a low progesterone problem
Definitely call if it doesn't stop. Have you ever had progesterone problems? My doc said that a little spotting right after is normal but red flow is not...but he did say he has seen girls get pregnant with bleeding so it does not mean you are out yet. I hope it has stopped and all is okay! Good luck!

Not that I'm aware of, but this is the first time I've ovulated since I was a teen, so I guess I don't really know.
I'm still having some bleeding, but the fellow on call doesn't seem concerned about it. He said as long as I'm not soaking a pad/hour or having cramps that are worse than period cramps, it's nothing to be too concerned about (and I'm no where near either of those). He also said that this should not affect the outcome of this cycle either way, so I guess (even though it's sort of freaky and frustrating), I just have to hang tight and stay positive.
Thanks so much for all the responses ladies! I really appreciate it.
