We are having a Christmas party tonight and one of our guests daughter just got the chicken pox. She goes to school with Aidan so hopefully he didn't pick it up. The parents said they have never had chicken pox but their siblings have and they said they are immune to it. They are asking if its ok if they still come.
Dylan and Aidan have been vaccinated, first dose only. I've already had the chicken pox. Not sure about DH. My sister said just let them come. It's an adult party so the kids won't be here. What would you do???
Re: Chicken Pox??
I'd just let them come. Chicken pox is NBD. I think the worst case would be shingles in adults, but unless I'm mistaken, that occurs in adults that already had chicken pox as a child.
So it's possible that anyone who hasn't had chicken pox could potentially get chicken pox from the exposure, but it's not like it's Ebola.
It's up to you. I'm a huge germaphobe, but chicken pox exposure is not even on my radar. I'm way more worried about bad colds or the flu.

Hahaha. Im a major germaphobe too. I just don't want Christmas ruined this year. Last year Aidan was in the hospital from Christmas Eve to Boxing day so I'm just extra cautious this year. But considering Aidan and the little girl are in the same class, neighbours and good friends it could already be in his system. Plus, Aidan won't be here anyways.
Uggh...my friends little girl just had chicken pox- a bad case. Poor baby had fever, and a bad break out of them, and because she's only 16 months, she couldn't help herself to scratch, so they had issues with that too.
If it were me, I wouldnt want the child around with it, but they are in the same class, so there is a huge chance hes already been exposed, so really it may not matter.
Why would they want to bring a kid to a party who has chicken pox anyway?
theyre not bringing the girl. They were wondering if its still ok that they come since obviously they've been in contact with their little girl. They were asking because they have never had c.pox so there is a good chance they could have the virus in them too.
If I remember right, Chicken Pox is contagious before the bumps appear.
Plus it takes 2-3 weeks after exposure to show up.
SO, Christmas wouldn't be ruined anyway
