How are you and your boy?
How is he adjusting? How are you and you h adjusting?
How is English coming along?
Any regression or unexplainable behavior?
How is he sleeping? Night and naps?
Potty training, diapers, or done with PT?
Are y'all keeping things low key or going full force with the holidays, family, friends, etc?

I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours! Seriously :-) share your answers too- I'd love to compare notes!!
Since our boys are so close in age and we brought them home just about a week or so apart...
How are you and your boy? So, so great. I love this little guy with a love I've never felt before. I honestly cannot stop kissing him. He's only two and he already knows how to roll his eyes at all my affection when he gets annoyed! Ha! Just this week he started wanting to cuddle with me which is the BEST. Before he didn't really know what to do when he cuddled him. He would let us for 10 seconds or so and then shake his head "no" and go off to play. He'd still want us to play with him, but I don't think he got this much affection at the baby home so it took him a while to learn to like it.
How is he adjusting? How are you and you h adjusting? I have not found it to be that big of an adjustment. I think it is b/c of my history as a nanny and current job as a daycare provider; I had pretty realistic expectations about parenthood b/c I saw it up close and personal for so many years. H is also adjusting well but he is more exhausted than I am. He did not have the benefits I had so although he prepared himself mentally as much as possible, nothing can really prepare you for how exhausting it actually is! He does love it despite the exhaustion. He always says to me, "I just love that little guy!"
The worst part of parenthood for him is the poop though! He practically gags when changing dirty diapers and he is always in a bad mood for a while when he has to do it! We use cloth and the part where you shake the poop into the toilet really grosses him out! HA!
How is English coming along? I am amazed by how fast Arie is learning English! I'd say he understands about 80% of what we say and he repeats any word after us, although his pronunciation is not the best. One of my daycare kids is 19 months old and she and Arie seem to be at the same spot in verbal development. Arie is definitely delayed in speech but our pediatrician said based on how quickly he is learning English he will catch up to kids his age quickly.
Any regression or unexplainable behavior? Potty training as we expected. He was in underwear at the baby home but with us he is in diapers. The first few days he would tell us when he had to poop and go on the potty but over the last three weeks he has regressed to not even telling us when he has a dirty diaper. This week he's started telling me "poop mama" and I put him on the toilet but he never goes so I'm not sure what's going on. We're not planning to train him again until the summer so we're just going with it.
How is he sleeping? Night and naps? Naps are normal. Put him down, check on him once, tell him to get back in bed (ha!) and he goes to sleep for 1-2 hours. Night time- he sleeps great but it takes FOREVER for him to go to sleep. He will literally hardly be able to keep his eyes open and he will try to stay awake, being very hyper and loopy. We still stay with him until he is asleep at night time and if we try to leave the room he gets out of bed right away. Tonight it took me 1.5 hours to get him down; he was almost delirious he was so tired! This is the part of parenting that is the hardest for me b/c I am always so tired at the end of the day I just want him to go to sleep. I am good for the first 30 minutes and then I always get frustrated and use a tone that is too firm for his sensitive heart. And then I always feel bad and give him lots of cuddles which makes him happy but keeps him awake. Vicious cycle!! I have seen improvement over the last 3 weeks though so I think if I can just keep being gentle with him and not get frustrated it will get better.
Potty training, diapers, or done with PT? See above.
Are y'all keeping things low key or going full force with the holidays, family, friends, etc? Fairly low key. We are doing all DH's family stuff b/c my FIL is dying of cancer and this is likely his last Christmas so we want to make it count. We are skipping all our friends parties and all my big family parties but we are going to visit just my immediate family for 3 days. I am a bit nervous about how it will go sleeping at my parents' place with Arie but he is really showing good attachment signs so far, so I'm hoping it will be okay. If it is awful we will just leave early.
