On average how many follicles do most people make when you take Clomid?
I have been googling and not finding much info. I ask because I am starting to question if my egg quality may be not so good. Trying not to get too discouraged but with having a impatient personality its becoming very hard not to think there is something wrong with me.
I am on my second cycle of Clomid the first cycle I took 100 MG for 5 days, I had 3 ultrasounds with the first I had 3 follicles that were between 10-11 second ultrasound they were 12-13 and then the last one they couldn't find the larger ones.
This cycle they upped the dosage to 200 mg and they were 13-14. I have PCOS and am wondering if this might be not helping things either. Seems they get to 14 and don't get much larger, Thank you for any input. I go back in Christmas Eve for another ultrasound hoping for a Christmas Miracle I want to have my Trigger Shot cocktail on Christmas Eve.
Re: Clomid/Follicles Question
I had kind of a weird response to Clomid. I ovulate naturally but Clomid made me not ovulate -- I started to develop 2-3 follies and then they stopped growing before maturity and my estrogen wasn't rising. That was after 5 days of 100mg. My RE had me take 5 more days of 100mg and come back in a week, and I finally had a mature follie so we could proceed with IUI -- but only one. At that point I was just happy to be ovulating and that the cycle wasn't a total wash. It did not result in a pregnancy, though, and we moved on to IVF after that because I didn't want to do injects IUIs and Clomid and I were clearly not a good match.
On the other hand I had a good response to Follistim during my IVF cycle, with 22 eggs retrieved and a high fert rate. So I don't know your entire history but I don't think your response to Clomid necessarily means you have an egg quality issue.

Our beautiful babies
Thanks, still new to a lot of this. We have been seeing a REI since July of last year but when my cycle started going out of whack again the REI's advice was go see your regular OBGYN and that's when I knew it was time to find a new doctor. The new one is great but I always think of questions on the weekend. I didn't know if just creating one on each ovary was something normal it kind of made me start to doubt even on meds nothing in me works or is this what they mean by TTC with having PCOS is hard. I started getting baby crazy and wanting to start having kids shortly after my 21st Birthday then I was diagnosed with PCOS shortly after. I will be 32 in March and now with the fear comes the what if I waited too long. Thanks for listening to me ramble, after the Ultrasound Friday hearing the same thing we did last month even after upping Clomid it made me wanna bawl like a baby. To make things worse a lot of relatives have been be patient or one who had issues said don't feel bad it took me 13 months of Clomid it is like that doesn't help to hear when you are already depressed about it.
****Update***
Had the ultrasound today, 22MM!!! words I was glad to hear, early Christmas present for me never thought Id be so happy to give myself a shot on Christmas Eve. First time doing Trigger Shot and even DH gave it to me and he didn't pass out lol
