FTM question

I feel like a deer in headlights today. Bo woke up 3 hours early, has taken two cat naps, threw up a little, has diarrhea, and does not have a temp.

The symptoms could also be because:

 A. I know this sounds crazy, but I gave him one of those Gerber fruit and veggie pouches today since we were on the run-- could that be it? He has never had anything like that before (I have made all of his purees and other food) other than Go-Go applesauce which I believe are pretty mild.

B. I was trotting, swaying, and dipping with him on my shoulders at the mall! He then went in his carseat and fell asleep--as soon as he woke up I went to put him in the buggy at Costco and he threw up a little.

Is this a bug? lack of sleep? Over exposure to germs from shopping? Am I crazy?

In my defense, Bo has never been sick other than the normal immune building cold. Hand to God this baby has spit up maybe 10 times in his life sooooo I am kind of freaking out--kind of staying calm-cool-and collected, but mostly freaking out.

Your thoughts?

Oh no!! So what do I do? Flame if you will, but when I have a tummy bug I just drink 7-up and chicken soup!

I am guessing I should keep an eye on his temp and fluid intake?

That sounds about right.  Sounds like he might just be fighting something off a little.  Lots of extra snuggles help too :)

  • Awww, I'm sorry Bo is not feeling good, I hope he's better soon. William had a tummy bug about 2 weeks ago and vomited in his crib several times. I finally decided to stay away from dairy until it went away. So I gave him diluted apple juice in his sippy and night time bottle. It was only for a day, no flames please. Anyway, I also gave him toast and apple sauce and stayed away from anything too heavy. It worked its way out and he was fine in a day or so.
  • I vote bug too. Stay away from dairy for a few days, load up on pedialyte, bananas, toast, rice and applesauce. He'll be good as new soon enough!

  • Ditto on the BRAT (banana, rice, apples, toast) diet.  It works wonders especially if he has loose stool.  Also, I say lots of liquids...either water, apple juice or soup broth.  Our pedi told us to steer clear of carbonated beverages (flat or not).  Good luck...hope he feels better soon!

  • Yep, we just went through this.  I freaked out too, because just like Bo, Carter had never been really sick and rarely spit up.  And no fever.  All pp gave great advice.  We're 5 days in and he's still having diarrhea.

I hope Bo gets over it quicker than Carter!  Poor little guy.  Sad

Say wha? It must be going around! My ILs had it a few weeks ago, my H had it earlier this week but did not actually vomit...so gross!

I hope we all feel better soon! I had 4 days of eating planned! Grrrr!
