Pacifier intervention

DS is addicted...hard core. He only gets it at nap time and bed time, but we'd like to get rid of it all together. Any strategies that have worked for other?

Re: Pacifier intervention

  • Abby was opposite schedule had it off and in during the day. Anyways, we just quit cold turkey three days ago and she's doing fine. The first day was hard, but we just kept distracting her with different toys to play with I know that part doesn't really help you. I have heard that clipping off the tip of the pacifier part works, but I was worried it might cut their tongue. Other than that, my only suggestion would be to try taking it away for nap and then once he is OK with that, take it away from bedtime.

We tried cold turkey and I thought he was going to make himself sick from crying so hard. I've read about the cutting of the tips but wasn't sure if anyone on here had done that. Worth a try!
