Second night of swing to crib transition didn't go so well! We were up soothing LO every hour from about 10 PM to 2 AM. I think he slept from 2-5AM out of pure exhaustion. How long did it take your LO to adjust? My LO used to sleep pretty solidly between his night feedings - he goes to bed at 7PM, eats at 11PM and 3AM usually - with maybe one paci replacement in between. I'm hoping to get back to getting up 2-3x per night soon rather than 10+! (Curbing night feedings/swaddle/paci are three future fun times to think about).
There is a chance he may have been too hot to be comfortable for the first half of the night - my husband had him and he was in footed PJs and a microfleece swaddle and was sweaty, poor guy!
Please give me hope!
Re: How long did your crib transition take? Need inspiration!
It took a few weeks for us, and honestly some nights are still better than others.
My son took no adjustment...it's true that some babies do better than others.
The key is to be persistent. I might have had faster/better results had I not given up halfway through the night there in the beginning.
Our transition was more accidental, but when I look back on it, it appears to have had some consistency to it. Our girl was sleeping in a RnP.. One night I did a feeding at 2AM, and then I put her in her crib, mainly so I could go pee and wash my hands before I put her back to bed in the RnP.. By the time I got back (3 min?) she was asleep, and stayed asleep until 6AM. So the next night, at her 7PM feeding (which she usually falls asleep at the end of it), I put her into the crib instead of the RnP - and she didn't wake back up! It was glorious! From then on, it was all crib. I think it just happens when they are ready for it. She's been 100% crib for about 2 weeks now, and is asleep by 7/730pm and sleeps until anywhere from 5am to 7am (waking occasionally just to have the pacifier put back in - but never for a feeding or a change).
She sleeps in feety fleece PJ's with a onesie underneath, and that's it! I used to have her in those sleep sacks, but she outgrew them, and now that her legs are "free" she sleeps spread eagle - like she fell asleep in the middle of a jumping jack
The temp in her room says 67, and we still have a tiny fan that goes to circulate the air and give her some extra noise in the room.
Good luck, though! Just know that it'll happen when you least expect it
