Due Dec. 23... No dilation. Aaaahhh!

For the past two weeks, my doctor says there is no dilation going on down there. The baby is in position. My cervix is thinning, but I haven't really had any actual contractions, just BH.

I was discourage/disappointed at my 39 weeks and 4 days doctor visit last night, but it is nice to know that all is ok with the baby.

We have an induction date set for Dec. 26, because our doctor is difficult to get an appointment with, and the next time she is at the hospital is January 3. I've have severe pelvic pain for the past two months, but other than that, things are pretty good.

Just wanted to vent on here and see what you ladies are going through if you haven't gone through labor yet. Best of luck!

I am due on Dec 22 and I had no dilation at my appointment this week either. Baby head is also in postion but I am just not having actual contractions just like you. I am starting to think it is never going to happen. I am right there with you. It is getting so frustrating. I am scheduled to be induced the 27th. So my story is basically exactly like yours. Crossing my fingers that things happen naturally for us before our inductions!

I am in a similar situation as you as far as due date. But I have been told a good 1.5 dilated 50% effaced, and that she is still high. Since the offices are mostly closed all next week I was offered by my doctor to come in the one day he is in. Dec 27. He said come in to the office for a check or come in to the hospital for an induction.

Baby is estimated by the ultrasound tech at 8.12 and by the doc at 9.9. (as of Tuesday)

I simply asked what is the higher risk of C-section: to induce next Thu. or to wait and have her be a little big he said if we induce its more likely to lead to C section. So I know I made the right decision by waiting. We will, however, induce the following week if still nothing. Is there a reason you wouldn't wait til Jan 3 since its 10+1 days over due date for us? Just curious since Im in similar situation as you. My doc allows 10 days over.

I am due tomorrow and I feel like I am no where near labor. I was told at my 37 week appointment I was 1cm, at my 38 week appointment I was 2cm, then at my 39 week appointment I was "fingertip". Don't know how I went backwards, or if the resident who was filling in for my OB was wrong - but I have not had any cramping, BH or contractions in 3 days.

Same here, no dialation and babys head is still high! I am scheduled for an nst on wed the 26th, then we prob will get an eviction date if she doesnt decide to come on her own!

Same here - my due date is today but I won't discuss induction until 42 weeks - or if my ute starts becoming inhospitable.

I am due the 24th and am "a good 2cm and really soft on the outer cervix (can stretch to 3-4), but "2 and tight" on the inner cervix. Baby was lower last week than this week (same doc did the check), so that was discouraging, and I'm 60-70% effaced. I've been having sporadic contractions for weeks and lost my mucus plug last week and then again today, but no sign of labor at this point. I know I'm not due until Monday, but my son came early and my doc thought this one would be early, too, so I've been pretty discouraged about the whole ordeal.

I will be induced later next week if she doesn't come on her own by then (and if the hospital isn't fully booked with other inductions/c-sections).

I was told I'm "fingertip" dilated today, and 40% effaced. I really wanted to hear the MW say that she thought I was close, but no dice. We scheduled a NST and US for the first week of Jan just in case. Discouraging to even think that way! I hope the Baby's here before that...

I'm due tomorrow. I had an appt last week and no dilation. went to triage tonight because I've had a lot of pain in my belly and I called and they said come in. so we did, but no dice. when they checked my cervix (which f*cking hurt like hell) they said I was maybe a fingertip dilated.

I'm right there with you as far as the due date and dilalation. If I don't deliver this weekend then I have an appt for a non-stress test on wed and she'll check for dilation.

It is comforting to know that it's not just me, but I feel your pain, ladies.

My mom never went into labor and has a small pelvis cavity, so she had to be induced with me. Then when she was induced, they realized I couldn't fit, so they had to do a csection.

The doctor has been really great at giving us all the facts, and since she was talking about how the closer to 42 you are, the more likely complications are to arise. We just figured we'd be safe and go with Dec. 26 instead of Jan. 3. I think my husband feels comforted by that date, too. He has heard all the things that could go wrong when we took the childbirth prep classes, so I wanted to consider his feelings in the matter, too.

Best of luck to everyone! I hope it happens naturally for everyone before any induction dates. I would love for that to happen on my end anyway .

I will have to argue that inductions aren't any safer than going to 42 week (i.e. "all the things that can go wrong"), but everyone has their own opinion and every pregnancy and baby is different! GL to you!

I was due on the 20th and still feel completely normal. No contractions or discomfort, and no signs she will be here soon. Everyone says the baby looks high. I'm trying to enjoy the quiet time, but I'm so ready to meet this baby. I have a NST/US apt set for 12/26 and then can go as late as 1/3 for an induction. My husband is pushing for me to be induced and deliver before the new year but I'm really hesitant to be induced and may want to wait it out as longer possible. The last thing I want is a C section.

Ultimately, it's my decision. Hope she comes soon and we won't have to decide. Good luck everyone!
