Before I was pregnant I ate fruits and vegetables everyday and was very healthy. I haven't had much morning sickness but the thought of fruits and veggies make me nauseous. If I force myself to eat them I feel even more nauseous! Everyone keeps saying to listen to my cravings but I'm pretty sure that cups of noodles, frosted donuts and fried hashbrowns are not what my body needs!
Why is my body rejecting healthy food?! Has anyone else experienced this?
Also a question about exercise... My doctor mentioned that when I exercise my heart rate shouldn't go over 120bpm but my resting heart rate runs from 100-110. Which makes it impossible to work out. Has anyone else been told this?
Re: Anyone else having a hard time eating healthy?
As far as the heart rate thing goes, unless there is some personal reason or condition that is leading her to give you that advice, the old school rule is not to go above 140. And now they tend to say just make sure you can still have a conversation while working out, not to worry about your hr. Especially if you were active before getting pregnant.

I noticed I have been eating a lot more sweets lately. I need to tone it down!
My OB told me not to get my heart rate over 150 bpm, and my resting heart rate is probably 100-120 bpm. I'm doing pilates, which doesn't get my heart rate up too high.
I totally understand where you're coming from! I feel like a failure right now! I lost 40 lbs before I got pregnant by eating healthy and exercising, but as soon as I started feeling sick around 6 weeks, all I wanted were carbs. And once it went away, I didn't change much. I think we've just got to commit to the way we were living before. And find different ways to incorporate those foods that are good for us but don't sound appetizing right now. Could you take a smoothie or just in juice form? And maybe add squashes/zucc to pasta or find a good dip that makes eating raw veggies tolerable.
While it is important to eat healthy, don't feel bad if you can't. I was eating pretty healthy and exercising regulary until my nausea kicked in one day, which is also the same day I found out I was preggos. I couldn't most eat or look at most veggies and the idea of food made my stomach turn. I munched on low-sodium wheat thins, dry toast and took very small sips of water for awhile. Then slowly I was able to eat apples and peaches. I say eat what you can keep down.
As for exercise, i'm glad you can still do it. I get tired very easily, could be cause i'm carrying twins. As long as you don't over do it and you have no complications, I say keep active!!! IMO
This is true for me too! I just got the call from my doctor telling me that I failed miserably in my first glucose test (passing is 140 and I was 184) so it's time to change the diet. I starting getting in shape in March of this year as I didn't like the fact I was pushing 170 lbs at 5'6". Lost 25 lbs and then found out I was pregnant on July 18th.
I was already used to denying myself the "junk" foods and unhealthy options so I've stuck with that thus far, but I guess it's not enough so I have to change the healthy stuff I'm eating now.
I'm also going to up the exercise I do and see about adding other vitamins/supplements aside from my prenatals.
