Can't. Stop. Coughing.

I've had the plague for about a week -- yesterday and this morning I felt SO much better, and I still FEEL okay, but the cough just came back with a vengeance.

I just coughed so hard I peed myself a little bit.

SO, I'm going home and working remotely for the rest of the day. 

Oh, the indignity...

    The lingering, hacking cough is horrible. Keeps me and DH up at night. I have no suggestions for getting rid of it.

    I hate the feeling that I have to cough but I absolutely do not want to cough because once I start I can't stop. I am sorry you are feeling sick, hope it gets better soon!

    Yes, thank you, it is more annoying / painful than anything else - I don't actually feel sick anymore, but the lingering cough is very frustrating.  It sounds a lot worse than it is.  I'm home now - in dry underpants - and naturally it calmed down right away, but I just couldn't sit there anymore.

    My DH had this lingering cough, we would put the humidifier on at night by his head. It seemed to really help, maybe this is worth giving a shot? Good luck, and feel better!

    Ohhhh yeah, I'm sleeping with a humidifier on.  After using my neti pot and attaching a breathe-right strip.  This is the worst cold ever.  :-)

    I hope you start feeling better soon.  Becareful with that cough.  When I was pregnant with DS I caught bronchitis and I had waited so long to go get checked out (because it was just a couch) that they said if I'd waited any longer it would have been walking pneumonia.  It took me 3 months to get better.  I hope it passes quickly and that you get some rest over the holidays.
