To tell you the truth I don't even remember. There were a bunch to choose from at BRU and we just went with a mid-price one that seemed to be of high quality. I figured there's probably not a huge difference.

I got the foam matress recommended by the Baby Bargains book for my daughter. It was $25 if I recall, from Target. Colgate brand I think. It made changing the sheets in the middle of the night SO easy. It is extremely light. We'll use it again for this baby.
Sealy Baby Ultra Rest. It was actually my second choice because the one I wanted wasn't in stock anymore. It feels nice and firm and got good reviews. It's about $80.
I would *guess* that most brand name mattresses are comparable to each other.
We have the Colgate Classica (III I believe). It has a super firm side for infants and a flip side for toddlers. DD never had a problem with it on either side.
