Quietness during naps

My LO is not napping well I'm thinking that it may be because I have on the tv and make noise (a reasonable amount) during this nap time. I don't want to make him spoiled with always having it quiet during his naps since I know that he won't always get to nap at home in quiet. Do you have it completely quiet during your LO's naptime?

Re: Quietness during naps

  • Oh no, don't be quiet! I make a point to play music or the TV when she's napping.. it helps her nap longer because then any little sounds don't wake her up.

That's what I was afraid of. I'm assuming that you don't stay quiet during night time right?

  • During the day there is always noise around the house. TV, clanging in the kitchen, misc. house duties...certainly not a serene noisless house by any means. At nighttime, he has a small fan (runs all night) and a sleep sheep (runs for 45 min.) to drowned out any sound and put him into a very restful sleep. We did the fan part because DH and I sleep with a fan and always have, so we didn't want him to be restless when he came in to snuggle with us in bed because of the fan noise.

  • He's still napping! A record breaking 2 hr nap and still going. Now I am afraid to make a noise...lol. Quietness seems to be working but I do not want to be a slave in my own home.

  • The nap was 3 hours. I'm impressed. Next time I will try not to be as quiet as a church mouse (although it seems to have worked).
