December 22

It is now December 22nd in some parts of the far west...  I suppose we survived.  :)

Re: December 22

  • Yes I was really worried about this (sarcasm). I was, in all honesty, slightly worried.

  • We were just having a discussion at work if it counts or not because it's not December 22 where the Mayans are lol.

LOL! I didn't realize the EOTW was time-zone specific. Wink

  • Is that Mayan Standard or Mayan Eastern time?

No, and I find that so funny! Technically this should have happened years ago since they didn't factor in leap year.

  • One of my friends messaged me this today.  Quite interesting:

"Today is actually the start of a new era, and is, in fact a cause to celebrate. 'The current era (known to the Mayans as a baktun) does end on December 21, 2012. However, the world will not end; the calendar simply rolls over to the next baktun. It?s very similar to the Gregorian date of January 1, 2000.

And just like we celebrated the beginning of the new millennium, the Mayans would have celebrated the beginning of a new baktun. This was not something to fear.'"
