There is a grass-roots project under way to decorate their new school with homemade snowflakes to create a winter wonderland. I would like to make one with my DS. The only thing is that he is 8 months and I am not sure how I can get him involved in the project. This will be our first art project together so I wanted to make it special. Any creative ideas on howI can get him to participate in the art project? I am not comfortable with him using paint or glitter yet.
Btw, if you and your little one would like to contribute, please send your snowflakes by 1/12/13 to Connecticut PTSA, 60 Connolly Parkway, Building 12, Suite 130, Hamden, CT 06514. Spread the word and share with your friends, families and teachers.
Re: Snowflakes project for Sandy Hook School
you can buy paint that is made from all organic food-grade materials. I have some that I ordered from Babysteals, but I haven't tried it yet.
Another option would be to get some of the ink from one of those baby handprint kits and put a hand or footprint on it, then wash it off
We made salt dough ornaments for family for Christmas. We put hand and foot prints on them and then afterwards I used the glue and glitter. I used a snowflake cookie cutter to make them.
The salt dough recipe that worked for me was 1 cup of salt, 2 cups of flour, and 1/2 to 3/4 c of water.
I finished the project. It came out great. LO participated by trying to rip it up...lol. Can't wait to send it.
