Hello ladies,
I posted here once looking for support when I was going to be on hospital bed rest with my twins. Unfortunately, I lost my angelbabies at 19w4d due to IC. Since
then I have been researching like crazy because it helps me to heal. I
need to know what I can do so this will NEVER happen again.
Have any of you ladies had the TAC (trans-abdominal cerclage) done? or know someone that has?
TIA

Re: Any experience with TAC (loss mentioned)
As far as the TAC I don't have any experience with that one, but I do know they are probably the most secure of cerclages and requires a csection at delivery. Not that a csection would bother me as long as I have a healthy baby. My MTM didnt suggest this for me, instead I got a McMcDonald cerclage. What I would do is visit a high risk doctor before you are even pregnant to develop a plan and go over history. My regular OB does high risk too so we developed a plan five months before I even got pregnant. He was even able to suggest my MFM doctor at that time.
Good luck. I think I read some ladies on this board have had a TAC so I hope you get some answers applicable your question. Maybe even ask on the premie board.

Hey Cuddle,
As far as I know it's pretty hard to get a TAC. I think you need to have a failed TVC first.
I also know of another ladies on the multiples board who currently has a TAC.
The PP offered some good advice though, you should really check out abbyloopers since it's full of some really great information.
I have a TAC. Dr. Haney in Chicago put it in last year on December 19th. He is WONDERFUL and I can not say enough positive things about him. Since getting pregnant again and having a few complications I have been emailing him monthly and he has talked to my Peri a few times as well. He is a loving, caring doctor.
I did not have a prior loss. With my first pregnancy I had a TVC that held along with 29 weeks of bed rest. My husband and I researched our options before TTC #2 and decided to go with the TAC rather than another TVC in order to avoid bed rest and all the ups and downs and unknowns associated with it. Today I am 20.2 weeks and have required no bed rest. I do have complete previa, but with a TAC I am having a csection regardless!
I would highly suggest registering on Abbyloopers, the women/sisters are wonderful resources and there are also resources from Dr. Haney Dr. Davis and Dr. Sumners on the site. (Those are the 3 doctors around the U.S. that most women seem to use for the TAC surgery).
Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions at all.
29 weeks of bedrest & Cerclage at 14 weeks.
Sorry for your loss
I dont have a TAC nor am i pregnant.. I am from NYC and i have discussed that procedure with my High Risk dr and she told me she wants to try a Cerglage on me first then IF that fails she would have to send me to another dr to have the tac done bcuz thats a real surgery... I personally am conforatable with having a cerglage... Ive never done bedrest but i would stand on my head if i had to just to be able to take home a healthy baby...
good luck and please keep up posted.. sorry again for your loss
