Just a follow up about needing a pep talk for Christmas. I don't think DD1 is perfect, but she is generally very sweet and thoughtful towards others. She struggles with sharing sometimes, but I the little story below is an example that gives me hope about how gentle discipline is working for us.
Today my Mum gave DD1 a toy gardening set. It had two little spades and a little fork in it. DD asked me to open it up, and immediately started telling me how DD2 doesn't have a spade, and that she needs a spade too. Then she looked at her new tools for a moment and said DD2 can have the yellow one. Then she put it on the table and asked me to keep it safe for DD2, for when she's a big girl like DD1.
Kinda melted my heart, and made me so happy to hear DD1 thinking about her little sister missing out, and happily gifting one of her things to DD2.

How sweet! You could get her to wrap it to give to DD2!
