My LO is here!! I woke up on the 16th at 2:30am with cramping/back pain. Took half an hour to realize they were contractions. DH had to work at 4am, so I dropped him off and finished my Christmas shopping at the 24h Walmart. Contractions were 4 to 6 min apart lasting 50 to 60 min for 8 hours. We went to the hospital at 10:30 to be checked after DH was relieved at work. By the time my Dr came to see me at 1:30pm, I was 4 to 5cm, bulging membranes, but coping well with contractions. They broke my water then, and it became a bit hellish. I'd wanted all natural, but I ended up using the gastotal life saver : LO was born just 2h later, total time from waking up was 13.5h. Second degree tear, but it's healing well. We had been team green, so finding out it was a girl I really didn't even notice the stitching, we were busy with the baby. I had a birthday cake brought in, and we shared it with the nurses.
Mackenzie Doreen was 7lbs 11oz, and 8 days early. No problems, and my milk came in the second night. We got home on the 18th. Now we're getting into the swing of the parenting thing, and back to preparing for Christmas. We're so glad she came early, and we look forward to her first Christmas!!
