What is the difference between scotch, bourbon, and whiskey? not helpful at all,I know...just curious. I can recommend a good bourbon...
I am far from an expert on this one but from what I understand Scotch is a malt or grain whisky made in Scotland, Bourbon is an American whiskey made mostly from corn, and then there are other American whiskies made from barley, rye and wheat. I guess they are all just different types of whisky made from different products.
Super, I loved your post!
Thanks ladies for the recs. I will find one of these in the liquor store and get it for my friend. Since I do not drink scotch I never know if I am buying crap or not!
Re: Any Scotch Drinkers Out There?
The king o' drinks, as I conceive it, Talisker, Islay, or Glenlivet.
Glenlivet is your best bet and reasonably priced.
I get DH a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label every year for Channukah. It's about $50. It's not top of the line, but it's affordable.
When it doubt, the good bottles of scotch are the ones with unpronounceable names (lots of extra g's/o's/u's)
Any scotch will do as long as it's not a blend, of course. Single malt; Glenlivet, Glenfiddich perhaps? Maybe a Glengow...Any Glen will do.
Sorry, I couldn't help myself...I love Swingers. But, I think this really does apply.
