Hello,
My husband and I are ttc and so as a result, I have stopped using my acne medication. I know that some over the counter acne medications are safe for pregnancy, however I wanted to see if anyone out there knew of any non-benzoyl peroxide or non-salicylic acid skin care lines out there that people had good luck with. I've struggled with my acne for a long time. I started using Belli, but that seems to be making it worse.
Any advice from anyone else out there would be great!
Re: Advice about safe acne treatments?
I have been reading conflicting things about benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. Some things indicate small amount of SA are safe if used in cleansers but not leave on lotions. Others say no amount is safe. I have acne as well and I have been using a glycolic acid facial cleanser and the consensus on that is that it is safe during TTC and pregnancy. It actually works pretty well on my acne and evens my complexion. I use a brand called Image, I believe its a small company in Florida. I get it from my esthetician.
The only thing that really works for me is Neutrogena's Oil-Free Acne face wash (orange). I tried to find articles that say whether or not to use during pregnancy, but I only found conflicting answers. Some say not to use and some say it's fine. I'm going to use until I need to do further research (when I'm pregnant

I've tried that, but it didn't work for me, BUT washing with Coconut Oil works great for me.. I use a tiny bit to moisturise at night-time too
