My Mom couldn't take it anymore and gave DS his Sofie as an early Christmas present. As soon as he put it in his mouth he stopped whimpering and just went to town on it. I didn't understand what all the hype was about it, but now that we have it, and he likes it so well...now I understand. IT KEEPS BABY HAPPY!!!

Seems like such a small thing....but it makes a world of difference. So glad we have it now.

Re: DS got an early Christmas present - Sofie the Giraffe
IVF #1: 9/11: ER: 12R, 11M, 10F, No Frosties; 5dt: 2 blasts, 1 morula; DD born 6/3/12
IVF #2: 11/12-12/12: ER: 20R, 20M, 16F, 4 Frosties; 5dt: 3 blasts, DS born 8/9/13
I think I am going to break down and get one... I have heard so many good things about it...
DS loves to put almost anything in his mouth, so I am sure it'll be a hit here.
I was sooo against buying one...I had heard the all the good things people said about Sofie, but seriously I was NOT going to shell out $18 for something to chew on......
Then we went for her 6month photo shoot and our photographer had one (she sterlizes between shoots) and I saw how DD absolutely loved it. SHe went from crying to happy and jsut went to town gnawing on her head, couldn't get it far enough into her mouth...
So, I caved and ordered her one...it will be under the tree Christmas morning.
I heard a lot of great reviews about Sophie so had to convince DH to pay $20 for a 'teething ring' and was so excited to finally get it....unfortuatey my lil one could care less about the thing lol. She puts the hooves in her mouth every once in a while but she mosly likes her rings and lil smiley face teething ring from walmart. I also didn't know that the giraffe squeaks so it turns out one of my dogs loves it a lot more than my daughter and it pretty much has to stay hidden so the dog doesn't get it.
Glad yours is getting some good use
LOL, if I dont put Sophie up at night before bed, she will be laying in the hallway after the dogs get ahold of her. They also do this with her stuffed animals. luckily they dont chew things up, just move them around the house. It cracks me up
