I had my 31 week appointment on Tuesday, and my doctor told me everything looks good with the baby and me. But my fundal height is measuring at 29.5 cm. She said I shouldn't be worried about it because she won't worry until is it 3 cm off. I saw the same doctor for my 24 week appointment, and she told me the same thing. When I went for my 28 week appointent I saw somene else who said I was measuring right where I should be. I am a small person, and she said it's normal with someone of my size to be measuring small. But this is my first baby, and I am overly paranoid anyway. So I asked for an ultrasound to make sure the baby is measuring where he should be. My husband thinks I am overreacting, but if something is going on with the baby I would like to know what we can do now versus waiting another 3 weeks. Has anyone else measured small?
Re: Fundal Height Measuring A Little Short at 31 weeks.
I would not stress. If you REALLY WANT another ultrasound that is your call, but I think you can relax...your doc would tell you if you should worry
I would try not to worry too much if the doctor hasn't begun to worry. I know its hard, and I would worry to (ftm also).
Good luck.
I was measuring small also around 28-30 weeks... I can't remember exactly. He said I was measuring about 3-4 weeks off so they did order an ultrasound just to be safe although he thought it was probably just because of the position of baby. When I had my ultrasound our baby was measuring right where she should be. Don't stress about it. It is probably no big deal. If your doctor was worried enough about it they would order an ultrasound to make sure.
Good Luck!
Sounds well within the normal range. Babies aren't all the same size and depending on the angle/placement of your uterus, it's normal to measure a little off. Also you're not losing cms each time (as 1 wk behind, then 2 then 3) which sounds like that's just your normal.
I'm measuring 4-5 weeks behind so I am getting growth U/S. I would not have expected them in your position though.
Oh and even after having a growth U/S that indicates that LO is in the 15th% and growth is uneven it's still another 3 weeks before they check again. There isn't really much they can do at this point regardless.
