Cute lunch check-in

(The original idea for 12 Days of Lunches came from anotherlunch.com.) I know we'll be busy weekend, so I might as well post these now since I won't be making anything new until Monday. So, without further ado, here are the next five days of Christmas!

Four calling birds! Puzzle PB/honey sandwiches with chickadee crackers (Target's generic Goldfish), plus sprinkles and picks for the "calling." There's also a clementine, strawberries, grapes and cheese.

Five golden rings! Golden tomatoes on ring picks (allthingsforsale.com) make up the main part of this lunch. Then there are "hand" sandwiches, a mini apple, cucumber slices and a strawberry, plus a piece of dried mango.

Six geese a-laying. This one was kind of a cop-out but DD still appreciated the novelty of opening a bunch of plastic eggs. Six mini PB/honey sandwiches are stuck to grapes with picks. In the eggs: Two strawberries, tomatoes, peanuts, cheese and leftover green beans.

Seven swans a-swimming. This is the first time I've ever printed something off the Internet, cut it out and used that as a stencil. This is a ham sandwich with cheesy swan on top, snap peas, golden tomatoes (with swan picks), mint candy, Goldfish and some cucumber.

Eight maids a-milking! While the swans involved making my own stencil, this one I just made with a rectangle cookie cutter and a little bit of time. Cow PB/honey sandwich with cheese and fruit leather accents. The **THIS IS SPAM** is a mint candy, then there's snap peas, a clementine and a Hershey's Kiss cowbell. This is a rather small lunch but DD was sick this week and a lot of her food was going uneaten.

Re: Cute lunch check-in

  • SO much fun! How great!

Lunches have not been photo worthy around here lately... but I wanted to share this....

on Tuesday I sent my son to school with ham and cheese stacked on Christmas toothpicks. When he got home he said "all the kids wanted to sit by me and touch my lunch today". They all love the toothpicks which had snowmen and nutcrackers on them. Fun! For tomorrow's preK pot luck lunch I made muffins, and each has a fun pick!

Ill try to photograph the candy cane sandwich I made tonight!

  • Please forgive the low res photo.... but it was fun and a big bit! The sandwich has turkey and cheese. Food safe markers. Dried strawberries, yum!
