Should I register for this?

Just wondering if anyone is registering for this soother? I want to get a couple cuddly things and I have seen this mentioned on TB several times. What does it help with exactly? White noise? Self-soothing? TIA!

Someone gave one of the travel size ones to us as a gift. I actually prefer a sound machine. It plays different kind of white noise.

We have the giraffe one and like it, but the volume our DD needed it at made us go through batteries like crazy. Personally I think they are useless. One more thing to get your kid hooked on. DS sleeps just fine without this type of thing.

I know many swear by them, I just think its unnecessary

I'm a FTM and couldn't tell you how well it works yet, but I did register for it. I've heard good things about it and the reviews were good. With that said, I'm going to take the same approach that I'm taking in regards to a pacifier. I'm going to see how she does on her own first and then if we need extra stuff I'm gonna go in for the reinforcement (ie. the passy or the soother). I don't want to get her hooked on something she doesn't need, but I also don't want it to be 4 AM with no options either. Good luck!

I bought one and liked it--we used it mostly on the rain noise. But DD loves white noise, so once it went off, she would stir. I wish it would go longer than 40min. So then we bought her this sound machine and still use it to this day. Will probably get a 2nd one for this LO.

I have the original and travel one. Love it. I also loaded an iPod with white noise for DS and got a dock for his room. Also loaded it with rockabye baby lullabies.
